Guest Peterpools
Nige Couldn't resist building another Mustang and of course after seeing your start, I couldn't hold off starting. Right now, it wouldn't be to much of a guess, assuming your plate is overflowing with the Fortress project and that's one complicate build. Right now, I have a few more Eduard sets and another Barracuda set on the way. Thanks for checking in
Guest Peterpools
HÃ¥kan Thank you for the kind words. I did go back and lighten up the weathering on the coolant tank this afternoon in-between football games. Just a bit too much right now.

Guest Peterpools
phasephanomphixer Much appreciated. I'm most likely going to use the kit tanks as Old Crow is a -10 model and I kind of prefer the look of the smaller tanks. I have more Barracuda and Eduard upgrade kits on the way from SB abd hopefully, I'll stop there and just keep enjoying the build
LSP_Ron
You're off to a great start Peter. I've built this kit twice now and love it. The last time I used the same decal sheet you have there but made Passion Wagon Old Crow is a classic Will be following with interest Ron
Guest Peterpools
Ron Thanks for checking in. I remember both your Mustangs and somehow Tamiya's Mustang is a kit I just keep wanting to build a lot more of. I sure, I'll be adding a few more to the stash before the end of the year. scvrobeson
Cool! Looks like another Mustang will be a good build for you. Sorry you got burnt out on the Skyraider, but I'm sure it will be waiting for you when you're ready for it. Hope this build goes great for you. Ripaman
Nice start on the Mustang Peter, your last one was brilliant, Having a small break from the Hurri at this moment, and I'am building the Tamyia and ZM Mustangs together, not sure if I want to do a WIP, trying to see if I can build OOB with just a small amount of upgrades, dont want to go to I remember Wolf saying I might not be able to build one OOB so we will see!!! Anyway will be watching your updates Regards Richard
JRutman
Big Pete! Nice to see you chose this a/c for building with that awesome Tamiya kit. I had the honor of meeting Col Anderson in Reading a few years ago, shaking the man by the hand and getting him to sign his book. Still has the light in those"fighter pilot eyes",that always seem to see stuff others can't. Your start is very auspicious as the engine, etc look great. Guest Peterpools
Thanks Matt Can't believe the Skyraider wore me out but sometimes it's just makes more sense to wait until the desire is back so the build will be enjoyable, which always effects how they come out. Just spending the weekend working on the Mustang, renewed my get up and go to keep building.
Guest Peterpools
Maru Thanks so much for the kind words. Totally have to agree, there is nothing like a Mustang. Looking forward to breaking new ground with Old Crow and yet, wanting to keep it a manageable project. Thanks for checking in and keeping tabs
Guest Peterpools
J Thanks so much. Can't believe you actually meet Col Anderson, as that is something to remember forever and ever. Still have your photos and notes from BBD which I will be referring to.
airscale
I sooo want to make one of these - I just hope they come out with an early version someday Peter - great move changing to something you enjoy - I find parts of any build switch me off, but when it is sustained like that it's just time to call it a day and get re-inspired by something else ..and what a something else - it looks superb Peter

Guest Peterpools
UPDATE 10/27/13 THE TURTLE DECK Next up would be the turtle deck area behind the seat; the fuel tank, battery and radio, where I would combine parts and details from Tamiya, Barracuda and Eduard. I replaced the battery and radio with resin parts from Barracuda, extra details with Eduard's PE sets and the fuel lines from copper wire. It took a while to figure things out but as I went, using photos and drawings (thanks guys for the help and info), the details fell into place quite nicely. Of course, some artistic license was used but but for the most part, I have the fuel and electrical lines in the right place and orientation. Moving onto the seat and armor plate, Eduard PE and the HGW seatbelt set and dingy were used, replacing the kit parts. Now that this area is mainly done except for a few additional details and weathering, it's time to work my way to the IP, joy stick area and rudder pedals and all the little details to be added. I included a photo of the Barracuda PE NAA logos as installed on the rudder pedals; Roy – what a work of art. I also have the Eduard pedal PE logos but it's no contest. Thanks for checking in A few photos of the added PE and resin parts from Barracuda and Eduard For some strange reason, the interior green color comes out a bit too greeny and light, even playing around with it in photoshop Roy's (Barracuda) gorgeous NAA rudder pedal lopos Peter
