Revell HE-219 Build: So it Begins...

Tom, Glad ya got it fixed, I don't recall reading about that either? I do think Ian touched on something on the spine on his review/build but it doesn't sound like the same issue. I wonder if it was in the mold being pulled early or does it look like it was designed in like an accidental artifact from CAD / Tooling up the mold? Looking forward to seeing what it turned out like with some primer on though!

All the best to you and your build my friend :)

I'm really enjoying this thread which will prove most useful once the replacement instructions and decals missing from the kit (which was new and sealed) arrive from Germany. I also bought some extras for the kit, including the Profimodeller landing gear strengthening set. The nose leg parts are fine but the instructions tell you to shorten the main gear leg, removing 3mm from the centre of the leg; the problem is, if you do this you cannot fit the wheel guards which wrap around the kit leg exactly at the point of removal. I'm considering cutting the metal part in two, trim to fit either side of the flat and installing the modified metal. I'm concerned that doing this will reduce the effectiveness of the metal and defeat the object. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks for checking in on this one...with 68 photos on this build and RFI, it might be a while to redeem this one from the abyss of pb, but I would be glad to do so if there's interest!

Cheers, Tom

That's entirely your call, Tom. But I for one would certainly be interested. I've done several of my own build threads so far, and one of them had well over 200 images, so I definitely know the pain!
