Max N
Thanks for checking in Anthony :-) I'm looking forward to your next update - you are definitely taking this kit to the next level!
Max N
Had some trouble with the decals. Mainly I think because I didn't get the surface smooth/glossy enough before putting them on. I used Vallejo acrylic gloss from the rattle can. Then I over-coated them with the same, and they started to lift and bubble. I think I have just about managed to salvage things, but it was looking very dodgy for a while Next step - lots of weathering! Max N
Weathering has begun, I have a bit more to do yet Please ignore the shadows - also I realise the flaps are set differently port vs starboard, but they're not fixed yet Edited March 2, 2011 by Max N

Martyn
Max, I'm with the others here, I just like the look of a well weathered aircraft, and personally I think you have got the finish on this one spot on. I hope mine turns out nearly half as good. Regards Martyn.
PhilB
Me Too! Nice and dirty just like she's been in a good scrap! Terrific stuff Max! Phil
Max N
Thanks for the nice comments Phil & Martyn, I appreciate it. Can anyone give me some advice? The canopy is a bit of a mess. I used Montex masks and some of the 'gummy' adhesive is stuck to the clear parts of the canopy. What would be a good cleaner to use - something that won't damage the clear parts or affect the paint? Would isopropyl alcohol be OK?
