Hi Nick

Engine and collector ring look fabulous. What technique did you use on the collector?

By the way, you need to get a mod. to move this to works in progress.

Welcome to LSP Nick! I've seen your build on Britmodeller, and it's coming along very nicely.

As per Matt's suggestion, I've moved your thread over here to Works in Progress.

I have developed a technique using 'Plastikote' copper spray paint that comes in a rattle can. This stuff takes about a week to harden properly and leaves a very bright metallic finish, it's much thicker (and more forgiving) than Alclad, so is self levelling and leaves a good surface with much less preparation needed. I then use Tamiya weathering pastels (Burnt Red/Blue/Oil) to tone down and work in the shading

Regards

Nick
