I like to join with this one, if it's OK!

It's slightly started, with engine built and painted, and part of the cockpit too, but well under 25% I think.

Thanks!

Then I'll start out with a few pics of what's been done so far!

The previous owner (I guess) had painted some parts!

After a nice cleansing bath!

No colors anymore and I want them to turn black!

Some painting!

Afer adding some detail painting and a wash, the engine and cockpit looks like this!

Cause I didn't check things thoroughly, I painted the side walls interior green and the wells zinc chromate yellow. Got some advice from Hacker and will repaint them black and aluminium.

Thanks Hacker and Texas!

I've mostly been commenting some builds here, but I have my Me 262 somewhere here too in the members build section.

Looking forward to more progress.

It might sound strange.I've been building LSP for nearly 30 years now and I still haven't got a Typhoon.

Still looking for one to trade with my 32 nd kits in the tradersboard.

Thanks Erwin!

Then perhaps it's about time to get one

I have one more incoming, that's on hold, from a private seller, waiting for me to say when

I'll think about it!

Thanks Ray!

Rivets? there are rivets? Well, actually I haven't thought much of it yet! Any suggestions will be helpful!

Hehe, that's why I asked you! I have one of those in the stash, too!

I remember reading somewhere about a guy that sanded them smooth, then brushed on something like Tamiya superthin glue and whatever was raised, i.e. panel lines and rivets, became sunken as those areas absorbed more glue than the surface and shrunk a bit? Anyone else remember that?

It sounded cool, but I have never tried it as I can only envision a melted model.

 And I was hoping you had a good answer! ;)

If it works that sounds like a nice trick to try! Maybe I could try on my Frog 1/72 Typhoon  I use it as a paint experiment anyway!

Small update!

I've repainted the fuselage walls black, and the wheel wells in aluminium. I decided to keep the interior frame aluminium, partly that I think it looks nice with the aluminium against the black

I know it's supposed to be OOB, but is it Ok to add some minor details like wires and perhaps some rims on the flat IP? Made from scrap and stretched sprue.

I've been told that the headrest should be red or leather, but what about the cushion in the seat (on the back rest)? Are the belts white? satin?

I don't know if I'll use the pilot figure, but it's fun to paint ;) The instructions says brown cap and suit, and black boots and gloves. Nothing about the straps/harness or the lifejacket. The markings provided is for R P Beamont and I found a drawing in one of Osprey's publications where he's dressed in (to me it looks) blackish suit and black cap and shoes. Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Azgaron,

First, I'm pretty surprised by the level of detail in that kit! It looks like you've got the makings of a fine build going with an old kit.

As to the 'minor details' you're asking about: we've stated that tape or foil is fine for belts, so I guess that some stretched sprue or little scrap bits would still be within the spirit of the GB. That main intention is to enjoy a kit in the way we did as kids; hopefully discovering along the way that it can be a real blast simply gluing some plastic together and painting it! So, don't get carried away with it! Just enjoy what is clearly already shaping up to be a really great build!

Hi Rookie,

Yes, it's a pretty nice kit considering it's not the newest kit around. No I won't be carried away (I think). I thought the IP looked a little plain, and I saw that nice tip where Radu made rings out of stretched sprue. I thought the IP might look a bit nicer with such rims around the instruments. I haven't done much scratch-building before, and this is my second 1/32 kit that I put on the workbench

I'll do my best to enjoy the build!

Cheers,
