ulvdemon Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Afternoon everyone. While looking over some of the posts on how to glue PE details in a cockpit. I have seen that you can use CA glue or Future for some parts. In regard to building an in-flight display, will Future hold the photo etch items since CA glue will run a chance of fogging the canopy?
LSP_Kevin Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Rather than floor polish, get yourself one of the various brands of acrylic glue (I currently use the AMMO one). You can even use plain PVA. These will hold better than the floor polish, without the attendant risks of using CA. Kev Troy Molitor 1
thierry laurent Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Actually Future is quite good to glue PE and is leaving very few residue. However it is only useful to glue small flat parts together. Personally I consider it to be ideal to assemble photoetched multilayered instrument panels and this is particularly useful for prepainted parts.
Bob MDC Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 My personal go to is Jewelers GS Hypo, easy to use wipes off with alcohol and is easily positional after application Bob
TankBuster Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Another vote for the Mig ultra plus I also use Gunze clear to attach very small pieces of photoetch. Cheers.
