  1. Holy Schnikes, a wingspan of 28 inches?! with a length of 20 inches. I can hear the wife now..."And just where do you think that you are going to put that thing!?" Cheers, Dave
  2. Great looking start! Looks big, what's the length and wingspan? Cheers, Dave
  3. HOLY SCHNIKES! Nope, really doubt any of that would make it past the sensors.
  4. Thanks folks...Ahhh, patience. Well, here is a little bit more from this evening. Going to a bit of coercing to get the cowlings to accept the MG 131s. Gonna have to do a tiny bit of filling on the spine. Question: Where the two halves meet, on the spine and belly, should this be there, or is this line not there? Issue: Exhaust sticks out nicely on one side, but not the other. To quote Mr. Porky Pig..."Abadee abadee abadee abadee...That's all Folks!" For now anyway. Cheers, Dave
  5. HOLY %$#*^%@%$#(%)*%$ -- Man I want one of those -- me guesses that it's a tad harder to sneak into the stash.\ (Hmm, she really doesn't know what's in the stash anyway. ) Ehh, the cost right now is keeping me in check. Cheers, Dave
  6. Roger that Grant....was pondering while at work, and am wondering if there is a way to get poster putty on the inside , just a dab. Eh, we'll see. Thanks for the tip. Okay, got pics with the results of Marks info. (Just learned about the MAcro setting on my camera, so learning in progress.) Left side: "Dashboard": Right side: Cheers, Dave
  7. Hey Dan, thanks for peeking in. Regarding showing off the engine...TBD. I'm going to be painting on the Black Tulip, and we'll see how I feel about it later. If anyone has any tips to paint parts, i.e. the engine cowling, w/o glueing them in place, I'm all "ears". Cheers, Dave
  8. Did some more in the office area per Marks guidance. Too dark out, will take pics tomorrow and post them, because the next step is enclosing it within the fuselage. WOOHOO!! Might start looking like something that was meant to fly. Cheers, Dave
  9. Um, anybody else having to keep salivary glands in check waiting for this, (what appears to be a), beauty to arrive? Cheers, Dave
  10. Ohhh HECK no! 1/4 Scale, then we'll talk. Cheers, Dave
  11. This? http://www.just-plane-stuff.com/index.php
  12. Good to hear that all is well and none of the high water has gotten to you. Well, overall I like the kit. there are a few IP marks here and there. Fit, engine mounts not quite right IMHO, and one of the MG 131s was off, had to trim it so it was shorter. Going to be under cowling anyway. We'll see though once all is put in it's proper place as we progress. Doing this like I am, I really wonder how folks do a 1/72 with the same detail. Cheers, Dave
  13. Looks nice from here....tarmac looks a bit bumpy though. Dave
  14. NICE! I want one, just finished up the 110 IP recently. Cheers, Dave
  15. Now that's what I call weathered!
  16. Grant, heard that y'all have been having flash floods. Hope you and yours are safe. Lord knows that we've had much of that over here, in the U.S. Here in Wisconsin, floods actually caused a damn to give way and resulted in a lake going bye-bye. Video footage showed massive erosion and whole houses being swept off down river. Look up Lake Delton, in Wisconsin Dells. BTW, my best friend and his wife moved to London a couple of years ago. How far are you from there? He's a fan of Scotch, so if you have any recommendations, I will pass them on. (He's a member of "Scotch of the Month" club.) Cheers, Dave
  17. Thanks Mark -- off the top of your head, not bad, but that's plenty. Gonna have to print that off cuz I wont remember all that. Thank you for your comments Grant. So how are things across the pond? Cheers, Dave
  18. Update. Didn't get as much done as I was hoping - ended up on the phone for a few hours with my cable provided. Dead box. Ahywho, office walls. Seems a bit plain. What am I missing? Does a cockpit need weathering? For weathering, would a wash work in here? Sometimes you just have to stop and..... Until next time, Cheers! Dave
  19. Update, office and engine have been put together. I believe that landing gear is up next. Question: The kit comes with the rubber wheels. I like them but the are shiny. What can I do to make them look better? Cheers, Dave
  20. How about this? http://forum.itacumens.com/gallery/951_05_08_08_12_05_47.jpg
  21. Looking good so far. I like the seatbelts. Where are they from? Cheers, Dave
  22. Lou and Mark, thanks for the data. Grant, welcome aboard and thanks for the link, will bookmark that one when I get home this evening, I will try to do this one proud. Not even going to look at my stash while working on this. (But I might put together an X-Wing that I received yesterday. ) Cheers, Dave
  23. I will be asking questions along the way too. here's my first. After looking at photos of engines in/on the aircraft..I'm unable to determine a color for the engine mounts and those reservoirs on the side are supposed to be. Instructions state RLM 65 Light blue. photos I have seen are various shades of grey. Is a grey acceptable? Cheers, Dave
  24. Greetings all. Well I have been lurking around here for quite some time. Now time to share. Was working on a couple of things, seen below. The TIE Interceptor. (Will we ever really know what scale it is?) Also the Eduard 1/4 scale Me 110 Instrument panel. Okay. Here is the workspace. (Mancave in the Basement.) The subject: Progress thus far: This is OOB. From what I can tell, looks pretty good for detail, but I'm not a rivet counter. This is going to be a Hartmann bird. Many thanks to Cpig, (Joe), I have masks for it. There are many things that are going to be dones here that I have not attempted before, or that I have attempted and failed miserably. For one, dry brushing. In the past, I have failed miserably. This past weekend I was talking to an employee of a LHS that does what we do, ( the other are all about RC stuff), and I was able to get better instruction on dry brushing. Above you see the engine. Applied what I have learned I have. You be the judge...but from what I have done in the past, this is an improvement multiplied by 100 from what I have tried before. Never attempted -- Masking -- Results: TBD, but that a ways down the road, so please be patient. This is a good seguay to the other thing I haven'ty really done, patience...I get to a point in a build that I revert back to 10 y.o. and start rushing. I'm forcing myself to 'grow up' for this build. (I'm 42 btw.) I need to slow down, and, (as I'm sure y'all have had parents and/or teachers say), do a good job! I cannot promise regular updates, but will do my best as life allows. Rambling over. Cheers, Dave Here's a 1/32 Trump. Corsair that I did a few years back. Snake is decal, cowling painted.
