  1. You don't muck about, do you Ron? Looking very choice. You'll be able to squeeze another one or two into the GB at this rate! Adrian
  2. I must be going blind! I can't see a damn thing wrong with them... Keep going Kev! Adrian
  3. Hi Ron! The more the merrier! Looking forward to seeing your progress on the 'Moth. Adrian
  4. Looking very tasty indeed Jakub! I have one in the stash and with every build of one that appears on LSP, the temptation gets stronger! Must resist... must complete RAF GB... must complete Vacform 101... must... I'll be watching your build with great interest, please keep us informed. Adrian
  5. Aren't angle grinders wonderful Kev? That looks the bees knees so far! Adrian
  6. Steve, a short, but probably unhelpful opinion would be 'sparse'. Some years ago I did start to detail one - scratched interior framework, etc then put it aside. Now I can't find the damn thing anywhere! Have fun with it! Adrian
  7. That was on my shortlist - have the kit in the stash. I considered it, but decided against it when I realised I only had three months to fix the cockpit Adrian
  8. Gutsy choice Steve Are you going to go all out, OOB, or somewhere in between? Adrian
  9. Heaps of time Dave... good luck! I'll follow this build closely as my second build ( as if there'll be time) was a toss up between a P47D and a P51D Adrian
  10. Afternoon all! Have selected the kit for my very first GB! I will be attempting to turn this: into something that sort of hopefully looks like this: I've made a start (well applied some putty anyway) I think someone should have a chat to Kinetic about ejector pin marks Wish me luck! Adrian
  11. Hi Kev! I have to agree with Dave... you're being WAY too hard on yourself. I'd be proud to call that cockpit mine I must say that I find your 109 build very inspiring! I have a great many plans for a great many models - but after assembling all the items for a build, sometimes a kind of paralysis sets in that now I've spent all that moolah I'd better not stuff it up. But your example of 'having a go' has convinced me that its ok to use my Kinetic Sabre for the RAF build, and to risk masking and airbrushing all the markings (because there's no decal set available). I was going to cop out and build a Revell Typhoon OOB, but not now... Thanks and all kudos to you! Adrian
  12. Zounds Mike! Makes me want to clear the workbench and get my P-47 out and started. Amazing work, congrats Adrian
  13. Thanks Ron and Gary for all your help! Now to track down a decal set.... Regards Adrian
  14. Afternoon all! I've just been researching details on the web regarding the RAF Sabre Mk4 for a build using the Kinetic F86F-30 and my head is still spinning! If someone who knows far more about F86s than me (not difficult ) can confirm that the hardedge wing is correct (no slats, small fence and ailerons extend to wingtip)? The Kinetic wing seems to be correct with the exception of the ailerons (easily fixed). Are there any other tweaks to look out for? Adrian P.S. I know I should buy some decent reference material, but I have a problem in paying out for a book or books that I'm only going to use once.
  15. Hi Darin, thanks for the extremely helpful info. Just in case anyone is considering using a product called "Lazertran" - DON'T! The main claim to fame about this product is that it doesn't require any top fixative coating, just print the sheet, let dry then apply. Unfortunately the trade-off for this "feature" is that the material is way too thick to use as decals - there is an obvious edge to the decal film when applied that is impossible to disguise. Adrian
  16. Hi Kev! Don't sweat it... we've all been there. You've done absolutely sterling work so far, so if its becoming frustrating, then certainly put it aside (but not out of sight!) and go on to something else. That's my usual solution in cases like that - if the kit/project is still in sight, then I haven't "abandoned" it, and can return to it at any time - when inspiration strikes, or someone on the forum has suggested a solution, etc. If I move a project somewhere so its out of sight - unlikely (but not impossible) to ever be finished! Psychologically naive I know, but that's me! Adrian
  17. Absolutely stunning!!! Makes me want to put mine back in the box and find something else to build Adrian
  18. Hi Guys! Thanks for all the quick and helpful replies! Sounds like the Tamiya E is the way to go. Regards, Adrian
  19. Afternoon All! My first post - a question of course! Any mods required for the Tamiya Phantom E in RAAF service (1970s)? Thanks in advance! Adrian
