  1. Thanks all for your reactions. For the first time I am taking notes of my plans. Such a big canopy, such nice quality of the parts, so many details ...
  2. Do you know that feeling? You've build a model and liked it so much you want to do the same one again? That happened to my with Revell's 1/32 rendition of the Ju-88. The first was the A-1, the second the A-4. Or so I though. Because for a long time I had wanted to transform it into a Ju-188, only to be stopped by the price of the AIMS creation. But stopped only for a while because at some point I couldn't help myself and got myself a copy. You will have guessed by now where this is going. Anyway, after long contemplation (both the Ju-88 and the Ju-188 are nice) I decided to chop the Revell's plane head of and start building it as a seperate model, with a bit of inspiration of the 1/32 stand alone model of the Lancaster. Do you know that feeling that when you've gotten a new model, you must start with it? Over the years I had to fiddle with the Junker's cockpit a little (indecisive as I was at the time, see above) and that led to some paintwork. Juuuuust a little... With the hardest decision making behind my, I found it is time to give the parts an overhaul since I have bought nicer and more accurate paints (vallejo) and my painting skills have improved (painting miniatures and watching videos about it can be very educational and fun). So, an orphaned cockpit it will be, joined by a Profimodeler ladder and Eduard seatbelts. Maybe aftermarket guns (I forgot where I got those from). Oh yeah and ammo belts (source to be recalled). Scratch build curtains and some other ideas I might come across (I've experimented with Tamiya putty for the internal framing of the windows). And loads of brush painting fun. When I find the time; expect irregular updates. Do enjoy the pics:
  3. This is the only picture I found from within the cockpit.
  4. Nice going Andy. This is one of the pictures I found of the cartridges chute. Above it is what I believe to be the opening for flares shot.
  5. Hi monthebiff, If only you knew how I've been looking forward to see you solve the a-stand issue... A very clever way I believe to use the ejector shute as a base. One of Pastor John's ju-188 cockpits has been waiting on my shelve for years, awaiting inspiration - and courage. In an attempt to contribute to your fantastic build, please let me point out the following. A follows from his instruction sheet, one of the things Pastor John seems to have struggled with is where the shute leads to. In my humble opinion I have found an answer to that question in some pictures (there a very few that show this) that reveal there was an exit in the port side of the cockpit, after the front part of the cockpit, just above the window part for the bomb sight. There is artwork with a Polish text that clearly depicts this. Unfortunately I am unable to upload the pictures - I haven't worked out that function yet. Enough talk. Thanks for sharing your endevours. Jeroen
