  1. A tip of the magnifying visor to Thunnus, I was able to insert the little canister in the frame behind the cockpit. It isn't anywhere near as detailed as his work, but at least there's a cylindrical shape in that opening. Of course you might say if I hadn't seen his work I wouldn't have given it another thought and thereby NOT have sweated the small stuff, but I did and... I did. Just couldn't work out how he attached those itsy bitsy little valves to the tank. The silhouette will have to suffice, plan is to leave the canopy open anyway so it might not even be seen.
  2. And here I thought I had a problem, reading this thread makes me feel I don't have much to worry about. Just bought a Fine IJA truck. 2 1/24 Airfixes, one a Spit mark 5 and the other the 109 e. 1 1/24 Trumpeter Zero, 1 1/32 Trumpeter Dauntless and Wildcat. 1 1/32 HK B17. And the current build, a 1/32 Hasagawa Hien, the IJA truck's mate. Now if I add those I salivate over, wellll. Like to get a 1/24 something as a contrast (meaning from the opposite side) to the Zero, one for the B17 and since both of the Airfixes are BOB, or France, a Stuka? Maybe I do have a problem.
  3. Yes, I found a kit for $77 stateside, more than likely that'll be near what I pay for the kit from Japan after shipping.
  4. Look for screen shots of the Tempest in the sim IL2 Sturmovik. They may not show it 100% correct but it may give you a starting point. I have the game if you want me to don my VR headset and take a couple of screenshots.
  5. I think they have a US branch since the following is priced in USD, but I can't tell from the website. Been searching for this truck but all the sources outside of Hobbylink want 3 times the asking price Hobbylink is asking. https://www.hlj.com/1-35-scale-ija-type-94-6-wheeled-truck-hard-top-fnmfm-30
  6. Yes, that and no more attempts at flashing my BIOS.
  7. Thanks Kevin that would be great.
  8. OK, still here, had a major malfunction with my computer and lost all log in info for all my sites and whatnot. So now I'm trgt, aka Target, I hate computers and MS isn't much help in the recovery of mail accounts. Must be nice to run a company and not have any need to speak to your customers face to face. Meaning, my old mail accounts are lost for good and there's no one to talk to about retrieving them. I had a second email account with google and the two were each others security check, but when you allow Firefox to assign passwords, then, after resetting the PC, all those intricate Firefox P/W's go away. I guess that's the price of laziness.
  9. It's easier to deny the small guy then to expend resources to keep an eye on what he may, or may not do, with copy written content. The big guys are easier to watch because, well, they're bigger. A lot of people like to add porn of one form or another to historical icons, the Corps doesn't know this small guy from a hole in the ground. Nor do I, so I'm not casting disparaging comments at him in particular, just saying not everyone is a saint. An image is worth protecting. In cases of individuals, should someone paint a person in an unfavorable light, it's called slander. One other piece to this, I have a Honorable Discharge from the Corps, but it would be illegal for me to put on my dress uniform, I'm not in the Corps anymore and therefore do not represent them in any way. The only way former Marines can put on a dress uniform is if they belong to an approved organization, IE the Shiners. I worked with a former Marine who was a Shiner and every so often he'd wear dress greens for some event the Shiners were hosting, but, then again, with authorization from the Corps. Truth be told he was a sight in the uniform as he was fond of drink but PT was something long forgotten. I don't have any opinion about this, just saying what is, is what it is.
  10. This has been around for years, movies couldn't be made in which the EGA would be displayed without approval by the Corps. That's what I heard years ago anyway. We have an image to uphold after all.
  11. What size solder is used for the majority of plumbing on 1/32 and 1/24 scale A/C engines? TIA. Edited to add another question, I know I came across packets of the stuff of various sizes at one hobby shop website but now I can't remember where, if anyone has a US site they know of with the little packets I'd appreciate a link. Again TIA.
  12. There's an Airfix 109 kit languishing in a basement in China Maine with the engine partially "modded" waiting for a new comer to be completed, in fact, there's a thread within the dusty archives of this forum devoted to it's short lived beginning.Threads like this provide an incentive to resurrect the kit and maybe get through it and to it's bookend, a 1/24 Airfix Spit. Not to mention the news of the new/old Airfix Stuka, if I should live long enough.
  13. Progress? Hopefully the top two pieces (larger one I think was part of the PVC system) won't stand so proud as to obstruct the cowling from going on. Not that I plan on having it on the plane but it should look as if it would fit. Seeing it this close makes me glad the eyeball can't zoom in as much, too many not so straight lines. They would call this stand off scale in the RC world.
