  1. A tiny price but a short stay in a jivaro tribe will first be necessary...
  2. Salut Fab Merci pour ton post can you give me a link for Hurribomber's work ? Amitiés
  3. thank you really for all your comments, it's really nice to be able to share with people who are part of the house and understand the meaning and implication of this work Cheers...
  4. for 2024 the work program is the painting of the Astazou 14 turbo engine, not sure that the year will be enough...
  5. hi all 6 more months to finish this 650 pieces, 128 gram puzzle...around 1500 hours since start. a lot of time spent on flight instrument files and tiny decals. all the parts positioned on supports for a “50 shades of black” glycero airbrush paint :-)
  6. Hi all last post before probably a long time because I'm a bit out of ammunition.. here is the last part of painting on which I spent a large part of 2022, the control desk. I spent a lot of time on photo editing software to have acceptable instrument photos and at the same time all the markings of the desk as well as the interior of the cabin (and there are really a lot of them.) on the photos presented all the subsets of the console are not yet present and neither are the decals. there is a bulb backlighting system and also by leds with sometimes fiber optics for the indicator lights. cheers
  7. hi Fab Thanks for the comment. no, sorry no photos of work on the lathe...
  8. Hi all here are some (A lots.. )of pictures of the rescue winch at different stages. finished before painting, dismantling of each part for positioning on the paint supports and finished after painting. the mounting bracket on the helicopter is not yet painted and on the last photo you can see side by side the model and the full size. I did a little aging to try to reproduce the small paint chips that are sometimes missing or the usual traces of wear, I will probably do a little more but on the different photos that I used for this work sometimes it's in very good condition and sometimes less and it's true that I'm a little reluctant to "damage" this painting that is difficult to do.. thank you for your interest in this thread Peter
Cordialement. Pierre
  10. Hi Craig the resin I use is a 2 component epoxy, 100 part resin 40 part hardener this type of resin probably has a specific reference, but I don't know it. what I know and what I need is that the consistency of the finished resin be as hard as possible so that it can then be machined, drilled, worked by turning to put screws or whatever... I say that because not all resins get hard enough for that. and in order not to have bubbles I simply developed a technique to put together and mix the two components by not adding air inside which is not always easy.
  11. Hi all here are some pictures of one of the navigation compasses before and after painting. in the background of the last photo, a full scale view of the compass
  12. Hi all Still for a few days on vacation with this rainy weather I take the opportunity to load some photos under imgur and post them I started painting during 2020 and therefore finished a few pieces. to start the seats, the biggest difficulty after the construction in silver brewed brass rod was the manufacture of a cutting plan for the fabrics whose reproduction of the original patterns was made with hot trensfer paper. missing part of the harnesses and the four-way buckle. Cheers
  13. Absolutely fantastic precision and realism, incredible paint job, a dream... really really well done. I'm a fan now Peter
  14. hi Craig the mechanical part is an existing base which has been modified a lot, the problem of the main and tail rotor and to find a good compromise which once painted and decorated will be at the same time flyable and close to reality, there is a model which corresponds quite well for the moment but im not a hurry , I will not embark on this adventure trying doing myself while pros have the machines and the experience, quality of hard steels difficult to machine and also inability to completely scale this kind of parts for resistance problems of the materials, another story of compromise......
