  1. Looking good, Woody. Almost across the line!
  2. Thanks Pete, Wolf. Yellow could be an option.....still up in the air at this point. Not a lot of progress, works been busy. But, I'm at least starting to do cockpit painting. Rear area of the cockpit dressed in Aircraft Interior Black, little bit of dry brushing (got a bit heavy in place, will tone that down). Cockpit panels, floor, etc. sprayed in MRP Dark Gull Grey. These will get a bit of weathering to make them used. For now, I'm off to do some tests with the instrument decals and see how they look. I'm cutting them out individually, as the grey from the decal isn't even close to MRP. We'll see, hopefully they look decent.
  3. You got it! As I recall, and it's been a while since I watched the series, they said "shiny" when they thought something was good/cool. Hopefully I'm not wrong!
  4. Really cool work. Also good to see how big the ship is in hand. Another tempting item....to go next to my big Discovery 1? Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
  5. Very cool, Pete. Never have tried to make "water", looking forward to seeing how it's done!
  6. Give it a second try! I’m currently watching it again, halfway though season 2. I have to say that I totally forgot about Blood and Chrome and never saw it. But, SW…..this is going to be a cool build, and BIG.
  7. Realllly nice work, Pete! I kind of like the gloss look..but, probably not realistic.
  8. Thanks Brian....already have browsed your build, might need those pics off Photobucket
  9. Well, it's time to get building a model instead of house stuff. My other non LSP build foundered and is stuck on the shelf of doom for now, burned out on electronics and making things fit. So, to start things off, I decided that I'd pick up another prop build. I'd been given the Kittyhawk 1/32 T-28 kit by my dad. He'd picked it up to try doing a bigger scale kit (he builds 1/48th), bought a bunch of Eduard etch and subsequently changed his mind and handed it off to me after seeing my Corsair and Dauntless builds. What I have so far then: Kittyhawk T-28 B/D Eduard interior 32876 Eduard exterior 32391 Eduard seatbelts 32877 Eduard landing gear bays 32390 Eduard masks JX192 (love their masks!) What's undecided is final scheme, but I'm leaning towards the gloss white/red orange trainer look, as it's not something I've done before. Not a lot's happened so far, as I'm going through the cockpit parts and deciding what I'm going to use from the kit and Eduard. I do NOT like the Eduard panels that replace the kits raised detail, so that's not going to happen. But, I'm definitely going to mix in some of the other PE parts with kit parts, along with possibly using the kit instrument decals and panels. We'll see. Here's where I am at so far, just trimming, fitting, and placing some of the bigger etch parts. Cell phone pics for now, sorry about the soft focus. I'll dig out the Nikon and get the tripod going soon though. Hope some of you follow along, especially if you've built the kit! Thanks all
  10. Looking really nice (and way better than mine)! Looking forward to seeing the finale.
  11. Golf Channel if it's the weekend and there's a tournament going. Otherwise, lately, I've been going through the Star Trek series, currently in season 4 of DS9. Always has to be something I've see so that it doesn't distract!
  12. Glad you got some time at the museum while in my local. A good 20 year friend helps run that place and gets to travel all over the planet for fun on expeditions as well as providing aftermarket parts for Toyota’s. It’s also good to see such a clean FJ as well. My first rig was a ‘74!
  13. Even with the paint issue, definitely looking sharp. The bright red and white is a great eye catcher.
  14. You had the same problem I did with Oramask.......wish I'd found Kabuki tape masks, but I got it "good enough". Looking forward to seeing your next step forward with painting, looking nice in the blue grey.
