Well Jerry, as I said I am biased but http://www.modelersalliance.com/index.php has all sorts of people very knowledgeable in all sorts of things. If its a diorama Bob Letterman is right up there and he is quite happy to share his knowledge. There is Anthony Reeves of Treemendous who is doing a class on groundwork. And a slew of others. If its figure Joe Hudson is willing to answer questions. BTW his new 1/32 Luft figures are very nice. The thing I like best about the site is that everyone is friendly and shares, like here. Again sorry for being biased, but I think its a good place to visit. James

Thats what I thought, but I guess they dont make it anymore. Or at least I couldnt find it. James

Sorry I missed this post. I got in the book on Ostermann and indeed none look like those. I have found some interesting schemes though. Thank you for the offer. Appreciate it. James

There is a conversion out for the Hasegawa F-5 to turn it into an CF-116. I cant remember who does it right now. I have to get down to Calgary to see that museum. Maybe this year. Snow here too Ron. It all melted, then we got a cm last night. Better than the 20 they where calling for. Stay safe. James

Jerry, I'm biased, but Modelers Alliance http://www.modelersalliance.com/ is very good. Some very talented modelers there. James

Thanks all. I'll have to do a bit more research as I just stumbled upon those pics and loved the paint scheme. Before I had some custom made though I'd want to make sure i had all the details first. And looking at the mask and decal, the paint scheme is different, so want to find more pics before I commit. Appreciate the help. James

Does anyone make markings or masks for this aircraft Bf 109F-4 (Wk-Nr 13114) 'Black 1' flown by Oberleutnant Max-Hellmuth Osterman, 8./JG 54, May 1942 or this one Bf 109F 'White 8' flown by Leutnant Walter Nowotny, 1./JG 54, Summer 1943 I am gathering my stuff together for a Trumpetr Bf 109 F build. Thanks in advance. James

Anyone Here Got their Hands on Tamiya's Spit Mk XVIe Yet
Hagar replied to Brad-M's topic in LSP Discussion
Military Hobbies has them listed. http://www.militaryhobbies.ca/product.cfm?ProductID=8733 Would dearly love to get one. Maybe next year. James -
Have not been as industrious as I should lately. Here is where I am so far. I have some touching up of the stripes then start painting panels etc. I somehow misaligned the engine although I cant see it. But the panels don't fit so the engine will be exposed. Could be something worse. Comment and critiques welcome. James

Very cool. I picked one up also and I'm itching to start. Too many things on the go at the moment though. Actually your not helping as seeing this makes me really want to get moving. James

Little bit more done. Fuse is buttoned up. Just sitting on bottom wing. And with a gun just resting James

Hi Ron. The silver stuff is 34 gauge beading wire that I've had for almost 30 years. I don't even know where to get it. The reddish wire is transformer wire 26 gauge I think. You could get 3 rolls of wire for like $5.00 a while back. It has 26, 24, 22 gauge in it. I also have various solder rolls. But this is my finest wire, except for some 40ish gauge I got from a small solenoid. James

Okay first a better pic of the seatbelts. And didnt get much today. Started painting engine and have 1 side almost wired up. James

I have 1 frame / bulkhead point where the frame stands slightly proud. I think that is causing the gap. Fixed the Engine Cradle problem and it fits okay. Have sanded the frame down a bit and hopefully that will eliminate the problems. Checked the Errata again and only thing is for the engine build that affects me right now. Thanks for the reminder on the errata. I could really get into WWI a/c after building this. James

My problem seems to be the opposite. They are too loose. Did some work tonight and might be okay now. Will try the fuselage again tomorrow and see if it still has a 2 mm gap. I dont want to force it too much. Today was just a dry run, so not too worried yet. Thanks Ron. James

Hey congratulations Ron. Way to go James

Picture of the seat belts didnt come out. But they are on . Engine frame doesnt fit too well so I have some work ahead to figure that out. Buttoned it up with some tape to see what I could see. And the scheme will be this one James

I used vallejo aircolour rlm 02 and pale green and olive green and white to get to what looked right to me according to ref photos I gave seen. This is what I ended up with James

Well I have this build in a couple of forums. Not sure if that is proper etiquette or not, but there you go. I recently got the Gotha and Roland D VI for Christmas and have started the Roland. I would appreciate any WWI gurus pointing out anything of note as this isnt really my genre of modeling. But it is fun and the kit is a dream to build. Did the wood in Vallejo buff and then burnt umber. Batched up the green grey with vallejo aircolour rlm 02 and pale green and olive green and white to get to what looked right to me according to ref photos I gave seen. Have one Master Model gun built. And got to the frame construction. Will build the Radub seatbelts tonight or tomorrow and install them and the seat . Thoughts comments or critiques welcome. James

Welcome, awesome models and a really well done site. Its bookmarked as I am getting more interested in WWI a/c. James

Awesome looking Ron. I think you nailed it. Really like the faded olive drab and weathering. James
