  1. Sunday with heavy snowing here, had the clean the access ways to my house. But except of that not much to do outside. Sundays work. Base coat of Tamiya Flat Black and then played around with MIG Rust Pigments and drybrushing with Rub'n'Buff. I'm not sure if they will match with the sand brown exhaust stains and leave them this way. Here the modified access door with some high lighting and seperated crowbar. Brybrushing and washing will follow soon.
  2. Todays work was to airbrush some more shading/highlighting becasuse l felt a bit bored by the current paitjob. Further reason for the waiting were the HGW Spitfire stencils which seems to be somewhere in xmas postal traffic.
  3. The result after demasking the french markings. Had much fewer to fix than expected. The undercarriage after AK washes and apply of pigments.
  4. After airbrushing the bottom side the original access door seemed a bit clumsy with original crowbar so I used to rebuilt one from 0.5mm brass. The other PE-strips I took from the junkbox. Here the upper surfaces with basic colors including the insignias painted on with Montex Mask 32136. The tactical number I made from printed and cut self-adhesive labels the surprisingly good results. Here the near finished bombs. After watching these pics they seem to be too brown, maybe I'll fix that with green pigments – but first I'll have a look on their appearance on the Spit.
  5. unusual project and very interesting. Congrats to that nicely done eyecatcher.
  6. breathtaking built. Put it on a base and you got a show winner.
  7. very nicely done. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
  8. Nice Flee you got there and nicely photographed too. Congrats to your Bijou.
  9. L L.A. City Limits had that nose art shown on both side of ist tail fin.
  10. or Eagle Cals EC#20 VF-17 Jolly Rogers
  11. Vandy, I suggest to buy AJ Press Fighting Units No.3 which includes a decal sheet of some VF-17 a/c including LA City Limits. Ist a good reference and contains many color shots. http://www.hyperscal...kreviewrk_1.htm
  12. BIG HOG and L.A. City Limits seems to have these landing lights - both l want to build.
  13. l know about that. One major change also included the R-2800-8 to be xhanged to the R-2800-8W from the 551st Corsair on. Earlier -1A still had the same R-2800 as the F4U-1. It seems that the modeller needs much to go into deeper research to biuld the correct thing.
  14. why to delete the lower wing landing lights? I got several pics of -1A with this light fit on.
  15. Todays work on the bottom side. Priming with Mr.Surfacer 1500 l applied some thin coats of XF-83 and Tamiya Retarder. Was satified with the smooth finish.
  16. Sä Bømbš in the 3rd round. Applied XF-67/XF-19 and veryfew XF-7 to a sponge and rubbed it onto the surface. Don't panic, thats not the final result.😉
  17. Then l airbrushed XF-67 on the tail, mottled with darkened XF-67 and XF-66. After this let it dry a little and go for the cast.
  18. After priming l brushed Tamiya Yellow and taped it after let it dry. The airbrushed the taik in XF-66 and XF-19 for the cast structure.
  19. despite its size l prepare my stock pile to hold two of them.
  20. hobby link japan is dowm since yestwrday in thw evening.😃 just received payment confirnation.
  21. After my Spitfire build I'll also start with my HB P-61. I plan to turn that kit into a P-61A Version due to the too short nose section of the kit parts. I plan to do an OD one which is more easy to shade and accentuate with than an all-black one.
