Trumpeter's F-105G - What do I need to know?
ghatherly replied to AnthonyWan's topic in LSP Discussion
You guys are to kind, and quit honestly a little over the top! Yes, we have the F-105 F and G super sets, AGM-45 Shrike Missiles and AGM-78 STD Missile to dress it up. I am building a G and in addition I agree on the G-Factor gear, along with the Aries Cockpit and Wheels wells. Squadron also makes a Pit that is nice, but the Aires is my favorite for the PE instrument panels vs the cast ones that you either paint or scrape clean for PE. The problem with the Squadron using PE is that the Eduard PE is sized for the kit panel which is way to tall, where the Aires panel is sized correctly and comes with their own PE. Lets not forget those gorgeous Fisher Wheel/Tires set and Quick boost side aux air intakes. Oh.... and lots of time, patience, and paint!!!!!!! -
yeah right! Ernie steels the show hands down!!

No, I did read what you wrote. It would be nice if there was a correlation. IN 2014 there were 7 1/32 jets, in 2015 there were 5, in 2016 there were 27, 14 singles and 13 twin engine. This year there were 9 I believe, maybe 10. What we see int he South East is that the scale is really full then really sparse in given years. These bigger models take so much more time to build for a contest that modelers just don't crank out the numbers as in the smaller classes. I hope you are right an there are many 1/32 and that should be the case, since several years of build have happened since the last west coast NATS, so there has been time to build some numbers. We saw that in the SE last year, and this year the 1.32 scale class is downing number of entries over last year. I know I am planing now for 2019 in Chattanooga, and started this year not he entry for Phoenix. The more entries we get, the sooner IPMS will take the class seriously.

Why??

Just to add to this great topic, if you search mig killers you will find lists of the aircraft scoring kills and most of those list the missile used. Some are simply the AIM-9, but others give the subtype information you are asking about.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. This project started years a go and was the inspiration for the F-4B Super Set, and I finally was able to finish it. Cannot say enough about the usability of the Zotz decals. They fit is near perfect for the tail and the shark mouth, and Model Master FS31136 Insignia red is a perfect match for the red on the sheet. Make sure you completely stir the jar! Gary

1/32 Scale Tamiya F-16C Parapack availability
ghatherly replied to Mr Matt Foley's topic in LSP Discussion
Hey Matt, We make a parapack for the Tamiya kit, $10 -
Hi, I want to thank everyone for the kind words. They help keep me motivated Yes, Will be in Omaha with this build, "Brain Damage", and several ZM 1/48 Phantoms including a "B Conversion" of a J kit and the new "S"" She is a dirty Bird. I like the look the jets have at the end of a long cruise. The decals are form the Zotz Set. I built the fin first, as If I could not get that to work then it would have been a VF-51 bird. The Zotz set is incredible and I used both Red bottled Micro Set and Daco Med setting solution both with excellent results. A not though when finishing the canopy frame paint it gray, then apply the decals but trim them exact so that no film hangs over. They set easier this way and the slight undersize can be touched up with Tamiya gloss black. I found that the Master Model. FS31136 acrylic an exact match with the decals when stirred complete. The large insignia when on well, as did the shark mouth. The NAVY was cut separately.
