  4. Well I heard back from Don and he is in. IF not to impose I would like to bring Mark from Wolfpack decals along as well. Great guy and we can twist his are for more 1/32 scale decals. Mark can be Smitty's plus one!

  8. Hi everyone, After some negotiation with the Dr. over my ankle, I will be there. Planning on going to the SAC Museum. GT Resin will be int he East room tables 45,46,47. Please come by so I can put a face with the names I have come to know, and looking forward to meeting all of you. Thx Gary
  9. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. This project started years a go and was the inspiration for the F-4B Super Set, and I finally was able to finish it. Cannot say enough about the usability of the Zotz decals. They fit is near perfect for the tail and the shark mouth, and Model Master FS31136 Insignia red is a perfect match for the red on the sheet. Make sure you completely stir the jar! Gary
  10. Hey Matt, We make a parapack for the Tamiya kit, $10
  11. Hi, I want to thank everyone for the kind words. They help keep me motivated Yes, Will be in Omaha with this build, "Brain Damage", and several ZM 1/48 Phantoms including a "B Conversion" of a J kit and the new "S"" She is a dirty Bird. I like the look the jets have at the end of a long cruise. The decals are form the Zotz Set. I built the fin first, as If I could not get that to work then it would have been a VF-51 bird. The Zotz set is incredible and I used both Red bottled Micro Set and Daco Med setting solution both with excellent results. A not though when finishing the canopy frame paint it gray, then apply the decals but trim them exact so that no film hangs over. They set easier this way and the slight undersize can be touched up with Tamiya gloss black. I found that the Master Model. FS31136 acrylic an exact match with the decals when stirred complete. The large insignia when on well, as did the shark mouth. The NAVY was cut separately.
  12. More Pics: Thanks for all of the support!
  13. Hi, I finally found time away from resin to complete this build of one of my favorite color schemes, not to mention the story of the one kill VF-111 scored during the Vietnam War. The build comprises the following with many scratch built parts, pattern creations used to create resin parts, and some top flight accessories from the community vendors. Items Used: Tamiya 1/32 F-4J kit GT Resin F-4B/N Conversion Set GT Resin Intakes and exhaust GT Resin Sparrow Missiles Zacto Model Sidewinder Missiles Master AOA and pitot tubes Part R Us engine details Zotz Decal markings and Stencils Two Bobs AIM-9 missile and AIM-7 decals Eduard F-4C and J Interior, exterior, Seat Belts, Masks
  14. I should ad that part of the intimidation for me is that we have some fantastic ship builders in our model club. One fired build 1/96 cruisers and is currently building a 1/96 WWII Hornet, in RC. I am on the fence that I should build the mine as a RC. With my luck with RC the minute I send her out, it will capsize and sink!
  15. Iain, Looking forward to this project to see how it goes and offer encouragement. I received the USS Missouri kit with the Pontos set for Christmas this past year form my wife and daughters. Man these 1/200 kits are huge!!! I am intimidated and fear it will take months of reading and study just to feel brave enough to start the monster! The wife really wanted a 1/96 USS Constitution, but wood and knots are not my thing and I can only imagine the fun the cat would have helping me with the rigging!! The Hood is a beautiful ship, enjoy!!!!!
  16. Excellent work! Those pipes and cockpit details are much more difficult and time consuming than they look.
  17. On the real jest the speed brake sits on top of the fuselage and the edge you see is what shows when fully closed. The Tamiya kit is made wrong with the speed brake recessed into the fuselage. I always close mine the details are all wrong and I like the closed look. Depending on the period the speed brake is either a webbed metal part or now a composite with a modeled structure on the underside.
  18. I have a LW gear door set in plastic or resin that may help you out. Just pm or email me. Gary
