  1. Superb!! I don't have the skill or patience to do this. I am enjoying this build, more please!! Cheers Don
  2. Iain, Just amazing. As a mere assembler, I am in awe of the skill and effort that is going into this. Keep going, I can't wait to see the next post! Cheers Don
  3. Peter, I admire your boucebackability. If I had been hit with the problems you had, I think I would still be blubbering in a darkened corner somewhere. Great new windshield! You have snatched victory from the jaws of adversity Cheers Don
  4. The decals don't look too bad at all. See what you mean about the underside though. Good luck with that, I share your aversion to canopy masking!!! Cheers Don
  5. Peter, 44 pages of people saying how fantastic this is. They're right. Keep going!! Cheers Don
  6. Good on yer for blazing the trail. I am looking forward to seeing how this kit builds up. Cheers Don
  7. Oh boy! There's more AM than kit Good luck and I will be following with interest. Cheers Don
  8. Is it a bird, is it a plane??? Well, today, you get both. First, the plane has it's first coat of paint. White. Not as blotchy in real life and now the masking starts (gulp). Now the bird. Actually, FLT LT Phil Bird to be precise. Sitting proud in his pit. Stripes on his helmet were hand masked and painted. Close up photography makes it look awful but I am happy with it viewing with my Mk1 eyeballs. Cheers Don
  9. Well, thanks guys, but this has quite some way to go. I am doing this scheme and the masking is going to take some time!! Image taken from the web, for reference only. If any copyright issues, please let me know and I will remove it immediately. Cheers Don
  10. I am having a blast with this kit. Cheap as chips for the size and I am doing it almost OOB and wheels up. Used some Eduard bits in the cockpit and wish I hadn't. I should have painted it myself but was feeling lazy. So, first primer coat on. Some filling and sanding to come, then more primer and first colour coat. Enjoy the pics. Cheers Don
  11. Darren, a picture paints a thousand words... Can't wait!! Cheers Don
  12. Absolutely!! Get back on that Spit, I want to see it finished! Cheers Don
  13. Wolf, that is a beautiful, clean and crisp build, I love it. Cheers Don
  14. That looks great! I love the look of the camo scheme and the finish looks spot on!
  15. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This build took me a long time and a lot of blood sweat and tears. I am very pleased with the result but your comments give me independent validation of my work and I really appreciate that. Cheers Don
  16. That's a vac-form kit? Oh wow, what a great job!!
  17. That is just superb work! I am in awe of your skills. I have enough trouble sticking together kit parts, let alone trying to shape lumps of plastic. Great Job! I will be watching this with a great deal of interest. Cheers Don
  18. Thanks all, I appreciate your kind words Cheers Don
  19. Hi Kev, Of course, no problem. Let me know if you want more pics and I will get them done.
  20. Extras from Barracudacast, Camo and insignia masks from Miracle Masks. Lots of scratching on the engine. Hope you like Cheers Don
  21. Thanks! It was a lot of work, but very satisfying. Thanks Peter. This particular aircraft only lasted a few months before being shot down. I thought it would not get too battered in that short time. Hi Daywalker. Thanks for following this build. Forget the Corsair, build a Spit Thanks Mark Thanks Simon!!
  22. Hi Wolf, I may be finished before you but it was your build that inspired me to do mine. Looking forward to seeing your Spit completed! It's gonna be a week or so before RFI as I am away on business. Hi Martin, go jump in!! The plastic is lovely! Thanks for the kind words. Thanks Thomas. I have to admit that I am very pleased with the way the engine turned out. Thanks all for the kind words Cheers Don
  23. Extras from Barracudacast and paint masks from Miracle Masks. Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire LFIXc. Please enjoy. Cheers Don
