BiggTim replied to Koralik's topic in Ready for Inspection
Nice job! Really well finished with great weathering! Tim -
Yep, two different styles of wheels and some flared cuff props with mag and governor.
-
Thanks for triggering my spidey sense, Jug!! Yes, I have those for sure. Shoot me an email, Freddie, and I'll get back to you asap. Tim
-
Absolutely, yes! I have seen it. Even mismatched wheels.
-
Used to have it, got rid of it.

AIMS 1/32 Bf 110 G-4 conversion (retro finish)
BiggTim replied to Pastor John's topic in Works in Progress
Dumb question, maybe, but was it already painted, or just ready for paint and sitting on the SOD? In other words, did you have to strip the paint off? T -
Exceptional job, finish and weathering are some of the best I've seen! T

Yep - our own Gary Hatherly!!

Your work was well represented!!!

Ernie Ling has it. Clunkmeister on LSM. It's coming along! I told him he needs to finish it and drive it up to Virginia for Nats next year, but it's a fiddly, tender thing and might not transport well.

Good point, thanks! Fortunately, I've had excellent luck with the GMF/Rutman 190D-13 and the early P-38 conversion sets I purchased within the last year they were operating - both fit very well. Perhaps GMF switched casting resin types at some point to mitigate the shrinkage issue? I know that the casting resin I am currently using seems to be very dimensionally stable so far. At any rate, it's good reminder to double check the other GMF/Rutman items I have before reproducing them. I also suspect that some of the shrinkage issues in past GMF products may have been due to shrinkage of the MOLDS, not the resin. Recent improvements in both mold rubber and resins seem to have fixed most of this, but only time will tell. I currently store all of my molds in plastic bags to prolong their life and hopefully prevent any drying or shrinking. I have not had anyone complain of size issues in any of the things I've sold in the last year, but if there are problems with it, I'd love to hear some feedback. Tim

Glad you made it, Rich! Wish I could have connected with you. I got the same reaction asking for Rutman kits, Grey Matter stuff, etc. Had a good time though. Incidentally, the Skyraider with the Fisher conversion in your last photo was Mike's (recon).

That would be me. Drop me an email at bnbresindesign@gmail.com and I'll send you a catalog list. Tim

I'll look for you! I'll probably be wearing an old LSP shirt from Phoenix.
-
We have arrived at our hotel in Madison. See you guys tmrw!! Tim
-
I'd help you out if I could, Dave, but we're flying in.
-
Be easier to spot you if you didn't.
-
Good question. Hard to answer, but it's certainly possible. I'm hoping to stumble on some of the old Rutman stuff I need.
-
Sadly, I would be shocked if they ever did another Nats on the West Coast.
-
I'll be there. 6'-5", 250, most likely wearing some kind of Fire Dept hat, or maybe my LSP shirt from Phoenix.

I want to see this image, but for some reason I can't access it through my dropbox account. Any idea why? Can you just share the image here?

Hmm...Marvin the Martin...
