Hi all, Once again it's time to vote for the Group Builds you want in 2023. There are 9 options vying for 3 places. Please vote for 3 maximum. I would also ask that you vote only if you intend on participating, otherwise the results will get skewed away from participants. Keep in mind the first GB will be Hasegawa LSP's. The options are; Aces High - any pilots with 5+ victories from any conflict. In Enemy Hands - any captured aircraft in the markings of it's captors. Turning Japanese - Japanese aircraft from any time period. Commonwealth Air Forces - just that, lots to choose from. On The Nose (Art) - nose art on any aircraft, shark mouths included Commemorative Colours - a place for all those event or anniversary colour schemes eg; Tiger Meet, squadron or battle anniversary art etc. South of the Border - aircraft of Latin America Air Forces of Asia - from the Asian continent, any time period The Luftwaffe - 1933 - 1945. Voting closes November 20th.

Thanks guys, I've looked through all the suggestions and picked out the ones I think give the most number of options. I will put a poll up shortly.

Some of the ideas are a little too specific guys, keep in mind we're working within the boundaries of LSP's, so that does restrict us a little. I'm not opposed to a Battle Damaged or What If build, but, would there be enough interest? The same goes for a super detailed build, are there enough modellers here that want to build cowlings off? I don't know. Also if this was the case, I think we'd need to extend the more work intense builds to at least 9 months.

Nice. I built one a few years ago, but never managed to make the wheel well parts fit, so I did her wheels up on a stand.

If they were based on the continent for operations, yes. Don't forget Vichy French forces in Morocco too.

It's a nice idea but in large scale, just not viable as a group build as there aren't enough kits around. The same for Recon really, just not enough kits available.

I really like the Latin American idea, there's a huge scope for stuff especially as the US supplied aircraft post WW2 to many nations in South America. That's a good one. Asia is an option too inclusive of Japan. We could also dedicate a Luftwaffe Group Build to Jerry.

I don't mind the Nose Art idea, would include shark mouths in that just to increase the scope of the group build. Non traditional camouflage or a special schemes is due for a repeat as we did try tiger meet GB before, but I'd increase the scope of it by including commemorative or special colours in it. Scoreboards kinda meshes with Aces. Recon is a good idea but how many kits are there in LSP's available?

Ok, some good ones there; In reply to the suggestions; Non aligned airforces of the cold war - not a bad idea Meditarranean Theatre - Out of Africa is literally up next in a weeks time, so that covers a fair bit of the med if you wanted an Africa Corp 109 etc The Commonwealth - good idea Companies gone but not forgotten - not a bad idea, although I hope people will want to build their now hard to find models. USAF - Did it in 2017, might be too soon for a repeat. Matchbox kits - is there enough models around and enough options? Not sure Civilian Aircraft - done in 2017, might be too soon for a repeat Nightfighters - Nocturnal Activities is running right now until end of November. Twin Engines - Done in 2019, too soon for repeat Navy Aviation - Done last year, too soon for repeat Helicopters - Done in 2016, might be ok for a repeat Cold War - Done in 2020, too soon for repeat Recon - Good idea although I'm not sure there are enough models to make it a viable option. Happy to be convinced otherwise NMF - might not be for everyone Japanese Airforce - done before but due for a repeat.

Yep it's about that time of year again. Give me some good suggestions for builds you'd like to participate in next year. I think the 4 will go ahead as usual, keep in mind when making a suggestion there needs to be adequate amount of subjects to build and kits in 1/35 or larger. There are 3 positions to be filled as I've made an executive decision to go with a Kev suggestion and have a 'Hasegawa Group Build'. A couple of suggestions from me include; Aces High In Enemy Hands We have done them before, but not for around 10 years. Over to you guys.

Somalian Hunters, South African Mustangs and Sabres, Egypt flew heaps of stuff; Migs, Meteors, Spitfires, P40's and don't forget the many airforces that flew MiL helicopters. Lots of stuff.

Yeh I got the flick from there years ago for something similar. Never bothered going back and don't miss the place.

Just a heads up if you're planning on joining this Group Build it will start in a weeks time. Out of Africa is the theme, any aircraft past or present that served an air force of a country on the African Continent.

Just a heads up, 8th AF Over Europe is ending in less than a week and Out of Africa will commence.

Lots of helo kits are 1/35, but there seems to be little screaming about that. Yet this Kate has everyone up in arms that it isn't 1/32....seems strange to me.

A while back I put together a 4 part article for our local modelling magazine called 'Box Top Bloopers;, here's a few of the funniest. Some quality trolling from Hasegawa, with a Japanese helicopter carrier sinking a Chinese fleet carrier. Those are Chinese soldiers. Whoops, forgot my tail. Spelling matters! The little know battlefield tactical vostok missile with German troops and 70;s helicopter...cease fire they're shooting cosmonauts at me.

I'm not a huge aftermarket person, but when I do buy that stuff I try to buy things that add significantly to the build. Decals, weapons and for ships, railings and turned barrels. I gave up long ago buying up cockpit sets and wheel wells etc, I can usually live with what's inside these days.
