EagleCals for the new Revell P-51 Mustang 1:32 kit now available
dashotgun replied to Judyc's topic in Eagle Editions
The george preddy decals are tempting but I wish there was a way of just getting his cripes a mighty the third.... -
After taking an unplanned break from the hobby( partialy worked related and the tamiya f 16 tail got broken so I waited for a while fig out how to fix it took 3 years until I decided to just replace the whole sprue). any way I am building as a Kunsun block 40. The modern paint scheme is the the 2 color 36118 and 36270. Question 1 the pylon carrying the aim 120 at the wing caps are these 36270 or 36375? underwing stores 36375 or ? Question 2 the lightningpod calls out for 36375 as the pylon and the pod itself is 36118 but I have seen pictures of both 36118? Question 3 I got a wolf pack left side mounted HARM pod what color is the pylon for that( calls out for 36375) TIA for any advise.

I found it in stock at kitlinx yea!. I was annoyed at the solid exhaust stubs but I remembered I did the unshrouded for my Tamiya and went into the spares box and found them. I hope I can adapt them. I did some research on early cockpit and found this resource http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/67911-OT-P-51D-Cockpit-Progression-Walk-Through it has several pictures and looks well researched. So far I have gottne RB productions decal for the floor and Barracuda's cockpit placards. I am waiting to see if it worthwhile to adapt the tamiya early Ip to the model and buy some instrument decals from airscale also might get barracuda wheels. The real killer money wise as a tarheal( north carolina) I want to due homage to cripes a mighty and the decals from eagle are pricey. OTOH hand even with all the goodies it will still be less then the tamiya. http://davidsdigitalvision.zenfolio.com/img/s/v-2/p428424859-5.jpg

Tamiya 1/32 Early P-51D "Lou IV" finished 07-09-15
dashotgun replied to MustangManiac's topic in Works in Progress
I glued them after fussing over the engine compartment I was upset but they are really finicky to get to look right without gluing. I love the nose art on mustangs and although the tamiya is a beautiful build all in all I prefer to show case the painting rather then the detaling- 191 replies

question about wolfpack sniper pod adapting a pod from the harrier
dashotgun replied to dashotgun's topic in LSP Discussion
yes I was incorrect DS was early 90's and the pod is 2005 I think for the decal scheme it does not matter it is the two bob's Kunsan ab F-16 c -
The pod for the f 16 is not of production but out of stock everywhere. Sprue bros has the sniper pod for the harrier jet. Of course the pod is the same but the mounting attachment for the harrier is on the starboard side of the jet and for the 16 is on the port intake. I bought a Dr peppers resin lightning pod which I am not going to use. It does have a mounting pod for the port side Do you guys think that will work? I am building a tamiya 16 and have back dated to be a block 40 will be desert storm era and I want to mount the sniper. I did try on on our trader thread on the forum with no offers to sell or trade for the pod.

here is an article on diffraction and small aperture size f 16 is the lowest you should use on a aps c coamera http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/technical/diffraction.html
-
up to a point a smaller aperture is better and will give you more depth of field however to small like f/22 will decrease sharpness due to diffraction. Get or build a light tent and invest in some white balanced floods which will decrease your need for smaller apertures. Shoot in RAW or the nikon equivalent and use photoshop to process there is a free alternative called GIMP I believe there is a three stop correction built into raw. you can balance the light and darks better in post processing. Expose to the right ie expose for the lights there is detail in the dark but if the light is not properly exposed it is impossible to get it back in post

it came out superbly!
