  5. Hi everyone! Been fighting with this one since the start of December and, to say its an unarmed recce version, its fought me all the way! Must admit there have been a number of times where I've nearly given up with it but, though its not perfect, i'm quite pleased with end result. This is my take on the F4 aircraft flown by Sqn Leader Geoff Atherton RAAF, more info can be found here http://www.adastron.com/lockheed/lightning/75sqn.htm I used Jerry R's superb cockpit conversion, cowling conversion and props, a/m seat harness, early round windshield and metal u/c legs to support the 70 gms of weight i had to use to stop her tailsitting. Thanks too to Larry for the droptanks! Anyway guys, hope you like her
  6. Thanks for the kind comments fellas!
  7. Thanks Kev, thanks Jack! Jack, I used Jerry Rutmans resin nose conversion. Also used his cockpit, round windshield and cowling conversions.
  8. What Kev says! A beautiful scheme on a truly beautiful aircraft, well done!
  9. Couple more.... Thanks for looking
  10. Hi everyone. Since finishing the vac Whirlwind, I have been a little quiet on here. Since around November time, I have been working on or rather wrestling with a P.38 and backdating it from a 'J' to an 'F4'. I haven't taken any WIP pictures because I wasnt sure that I'd even make it this far! This project has been a complete nightmare to me; if it could go wrong, it has done! For an unarmed photo/recce aircraft, this has certainly put up a good fight, kicking me all the way!! Last night I finaly got to the stage where I decided to get a few pics to see what you guys think. I'm not an expert on U.S. aircraft in fact, this is the first US aircraft I've built since I was a kid. But I'm kind of pleased with how its beginning to ook even if its not perfect. There are a good few details that I have since discovered should have been corrected but at the time was unaware of and there is still lots more bits and bobs to finish. I used J. Rutmans cockpit together with PE belts (can't remember who's), J.R's engine cowling replacements and white metal u/c legs to support the weight. Theres a 70gram fishing weight in the nose and 10g in each engine nacelle. Anyways, take a peep!
  11. That a stunner James, nice restrained weathering, you've cracked that one!
  12. Beautiful build and finish Andy! James Edgar Johnson being one of my all time heroes, its good to see his aircraft nbeing modelled! I cant afford the Tamiya but have the PCM which I will finish is the same markings (one day in the near future!) Now then, does anyone have a standing figure...... and Sallie, his black lab to go with it?
  13. Very niiiiiice indeedy! Oh.... and the Spit aint bad either
