  1. Very clever idea using the clear yellow over the polished aluminium - its very convincing. Lovely build. Grant.
  2. Phenomenal painting and weathering - and really interesting to read your methods, very educational, thank you. Looking forward to more. Grant.
  3. Or is it Roundel goes to the left of the letter ?. The letter & roundel look really, really sharp - great job Jeroen. Grant.
  4. Firstly: Secondly, very nice Hunter - great job Obant.
  5. G Found some!! Amazon sells it in various quantities - even up to 10 litres! Have ordered slightly less at 500ml which should keep me going for a while. Many thanks for your input, very grateful indeed. Grant.
  6. Terrific, thanks for that - I'll give it go. However, in a blind panic I rang the enemy (wife) as she was going to a chemist and asked her to buy some surgical spirit which she's kindly done. Do you know whether surgical spirit will do the same job? Cheers, Grant.
  7. Hi, This has probably been covered elsewhere but I can't track it down so apologies if it seems a silly question. I've just taken delivery of my first airbrush, a Neo for Iwata, which was recommended for a novice and I've bought Vallejo's Model Air paints. I know they say it can be used without thinning but I've already found it "glooping" or not flowing freely despite using both low (10 / 15psi) and higher pressures. Somewhere in the deep recesses of my memory, I recall it being said you could thin acrylics with rubbing alcohol (Isopro???something) but as this is not available in the UK someone has suggested using surgical spirit - can this be done? is it ok? (BTW the water in this area is so hard as to almost make it like concrete so I've ruled out using it to thin acrylics). Once again, sorry if this seems simplistic and a repeat of a previously covered topic. Thanks, Obant (Grant).
  8. Fabulous - those radiators are just brilliant. Super clean and sharp. Obant
  9. Starting to get to the meat of the build now - bent rudder and all! Very nice. Grant
  10. That's the one ... sweet. That or the full winter scheme - but of course, it's your choice Grant
  11. Hi Jeroen, That would be my choice but, of course it's entirely up to you. Scheme B (Yellow 3) seems to retain some winter camouflage on the engine nacelles for some strange (but probably logical) reason. You're doing a great job on this Jeroen, I'm really enjoying this one. Grant.
  12. Jeez, those flaps look scarily complex! Lovely job on those. Obant.
  13. All zipped up already - that's good going Jeroen ! That's looking seriously . Looking forward to the exterior stuff now, have you decided on which scheme as yet? Grant.
  14. Bookmarked ! Love these. two used fly past my office window twice a day ... always stopped to watch them. Obant
  15. Thanks for that, much appreciated - you really DO learn something everyday on this forum. It's the most friendly and generous of help of them all. Obant.
  16. Sorry if this seems a silly question, but did you undercoat the whole thing in silver or just the areas where you wanted to do the wear and chipping? Obant.
  17. Blimey Neo, I'm glad you asked this question! I'm due to have my first airbrush delivered tomorrow and (of course) my first subject is also a German fighter - yup, so why pick one of the hardest colour schemes to replicate? You had a good reason, but aside from starry eyed ignorance, I didn't Anyway, what I'm trying to say is thanks; the responses have certainly upped my confidence level from a very, very low position and I certainly hope my first effort comes out somewhere near to yours. Good job! Obant.
  18. Wow, that's extraordinary work Fozzy - your attention to detail and skill is something to behold.I'm thoroughly enjoying myself following this. Obant.
  19. God, I hope my first 1/32 build comes out HALF as good as yours .. super job! Obant.
  20. Terrific stuff - looks really convincing. Obant.
  21. Wow, extraordinary workmanship. Wonderful to watch. Obant.
  22. Phenomenal work Cees, just make sure Jeroen's seat is right at the back by the galley Grant.
  23. Extraordinary - you've got to admire the work and skill that's gone into that. Obant.
  24. Sorry, no idea but welcome to the forum. Obant.
