  1. Hi John,

I'm getting ready to tackle the 1/16th Deagostini & was wondering if you can tell me where you got the English instructions. I live in Japan, so getting from a source here was a no go. I've tried the internet as well & haven't had any luck.

Did you ever finish your model?

    TIA,

    Jim MacDonald

  2. Really beautiful work! I've been away for a bit, so I'm just now catching up with your build. Your work looks pretty flawless to me and I'm definitely going to be following your build closely. It's so great to see another modeler giving these IMCTH kits a try; they are well worth the effort in that they look so impressive when they are done. Best of luck as you proceed. If you have any questions, I will be happy to field them. Chris's build log is another great resource to use. On the other hand, you look like you are doing a great job all by yourself. Looking forward to more! John
  3. Hi Chris, This is really outstanding work. You can be very proud of your accomplishment here. The engine bearers and engine mounting is one of the most difficult parts of this build; I wish my work looked half as good as yours. And, yes, the cooling piping is a very tough item. I ended up replacing the kit supplied solder with solder in a couple of different sizes to match my research photos. Also, the replacement stuff is much more pliable and easy to work with. Can't wait to see your work on the canopy framing. John
  4. Its definitely starting to look like an airplane! Honestly, Peter, I think you may be the most persistent modeler I know. It truly takes a dedicated soul to take a kit like this and turn it into a real eye-turner. Congratulations on some truly beautiful and eye catching work. (The photography ain't half bad either) Best regards, John
  5. Awesome work, Peter. And, yet, surely this is a labor of love at this point... and I'm sure it feels a lot like you are getting no love in return from the Owl. It's so tough to persevere when a kit gets like this. I admire both your craft and your persistence. For what it's worth, she's going to be a showstopper. Are you planning on doing a mottled finish or one with thin squiggly lines all over? Either way, I can't wait to see it finished and in the book. Best of luck with the remainder, John
  6. Brilliant work, Peter You've really made the "innards" come alive on this kit. I'm looking forward to seeing how that work enhances the look of the full aircraft when it's in its vignette. This is really a classic build, Peter. Very much 'old school' in all of the best ways. John
  7. Breathtaking! Wow, Peter, it just keeps getting better and better. I'm sure that with the difficulties you have described that this is surely a labor of love. But you have taken this kit with a lot of shortcomings and are turning it into a work of art. Your skills are very much in evidence. Brilliant work! John
  8. Stunning work, as always, Peter. The front office is quite a piece of eye candy! Looking forward to more. John
  9. Wow, Peter, this looks amazing! Always gorgeous work from you; meticulous and realistic. Just now coming up for air after a very busy February attending to family matters. Sure am glad to see this underway and looking forward following along. John
  10. Wow, Peter, What an amazing build! And what a lesson for all of us in what can be done OOB with a great kit! Been following this build from the start and am looking forward to your Sufa build now. John
  11. It would truly be amazing, Peter, and I would go for that double build in a heartbeat, but I doubt if IMCTH has any plans in that direction. I will be doing a double build of the Shinden, which they did put out recently along with the Zoukei-Mura kit. Should be a lot of fun. Just have to finish off the Corsair first. Would love to see this build in the flesh; what a stunner! John
  12. Amazing work, Peter! ...and sooo close! All those hours, the mistakes and fixes, and the painstaking attention to detail have really paid off. You've got a beautiful Mossie, something to be very proud of. I'll be following in your footsteps on this one for sure. At some point. Thanks for a great build thread! John
  13. OMG, that landing gear looks so good! What a dream kit that it has such great looking gear right OOB. Of course it wouldn't look near that good without your magic painting touch, Peter. Truly something to be proud of! John
  14. Breathtaking work, Peter. Such a pleasure to watch this build. Email on its way this weekend. John
  15. Hi Phil, Mine is in a holding pattern right now. Other priorities got in the way for a while, but I'm planning on making a "start" to finish it in the next couple of weeks. Many thanks to both you and Dave for the fine suggestions on the painting process for the Corsair. John
