Recessed rivets again... ffs. I'm with Thierry, I guess ICM is our only chance for a proper large scale UH-1 (and S-70 family)...

Unfortunate but also not surprising, Trumpeter misses another chance to knock it out of the park[and.. it's..... caught by the secondbaseman]

This is really a shame since I'm up to my nipples in alligators on the Dragon D model: lots of over-simplifications, and the canopy needs vacu-forming if I'm being honest. Still, I may give this one a try as there is no good Huey on the market, which is a shame since over 7,000 of them served in Vietnam.

From the pics posted elsewhere, surface detail and fit appear to be pretty “rough”.   It seems to be an upscaled version of the 48th scale kit KH was developing before they went under.  I’m not sure this offers any improvement over the old MRC kit.

I have built the kit and both surface detail and fit are excellent. I am still wondering why Trumpeter chose to really accentuate the panels on the belly of the helicopter. I photographed the belly and took measurements and then ground all of them re-flat and re-scribed and re-riveted them all. It was a lot of work, but the end result was worth it.
