Cheapest metal tracks I have found so far:

Tiger I / German Panther / Sturmtiger - metal tracks, late version, 49,95 € (rctank.de)

Interesting they say they also work for the Panther; not sure they should...

 Hi Ray.

Yes, I've seem those advertised elsewhere.  I'm a bit skeptical of them, and so far am reluctant to part with my hard earned because of that description. They should not fit both... I'll keep looking around.

Cheers!

According to AFV Modeller, someone is working on a set of late tracks, they are just not out yet. I bet they are going to be expensive, though, going by Trex's prices. I don't think it is Trex working on them, btw.

Our prayers are answered - or not!

Panzer Werk Design out of Poland is taking preorders for Tiger I late tracks:

OK, the kicker: Pre-order price: 265 Euro + 22 Euro shipping to the US. Ouch!!!

That price....OUCH!  Welllll... I think my Tiger will have to live with early tracks for now. Shortage of parts/use of old stock first, I guess!

Finished the weathering, have run her around the yard a few times.

Gents, except for the commander figure I am working on, I'm calling her done.

Of note, the tracks.  I had added mud/grass effects to them, but as I figured first time I ran her outside they all came off.

Also, the track sag you see here is with the track tension loosened up quite a bit, for display purposes only. To properly run/function the tension has to be tightened up , otherwise you run the risk of throwing a track.  Dont ask me how I know... I will say it was a PIA to deal with.

Now to decide what's next.   Got a 1/32 Hurricane to finish... maybe finally build one of the WNW kits I have in the ridiculous stash. Or maybe another 1/12 RC Tamiya Tank, I have a built JSII I bought, waiting to be refurbished.

Nice to have the choice!

Cheers... and only 42 days left till the start of the NFL regular season!

That is very impressive! Throwing the grass off the tracks reminds me of when I swiped the stowage off my Tamiya Pershing with its main cannon when I lost track of the turret rotation.

Cheers,  Tom
