npb748r
Fantastic pictures and memories, I feel nothing but fondness. They may be colourful, inaccurate, covered in raised panel lines and have very little in the way of detail but they take me straight back to the 60's and 70's. Very little money at home, weeks of saving pocket money to buy a kit or receiving it as a present from Christmas. Small pots of enamel paint and big tubes of thick glue resulting in sticky fingers and unplanned marks all over the model. Completed kits suspended with pride from the ceiling or walls with black string. Those early, colourful aircraft that I built sparked something in my that has become a massive part of who I am and what I do today. Cheetah11
Thanks for posting the pictures Mike. It really take me back a long time. Of the Aurora 1/48 aircraft I only built the black Fw 190. In a world of 1/72 Airfix it was a ‘big’ kit. I seem to remember it ended its days on the BB gun test range. Nick MikeMaben
