Idea for my next project

Recommended Posts

I have two beautiful large scale Tamiyas on my shelf - a Mk VIII Spit, and a birdcage Corsair. I had an idea and I wondered how feasible it could be. I like the idea of using the included stand to model an in-flight plane. The wrinkle is, to model it with canopy open and undercarriage in mid-fold, as though the plane had just taken off. I thought this might be an interesting variation on the theme, and still allow all the great undercarriage detail on these kits to be shown.

So the question is, for people who have worked with these kits, how feasible would it be to modify to kit parts to represent half retracted landing gear? Are there any pitfalls I'm overlooking with this idea?
