K5IKL
http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/edu32890.htm Has anyone tried these? I was wondering about the "steel" aspect of them and being $10 higher than the regular ones. Thought I might try them for the Zero I am working on. No much of a user of PE seatbelts but thought it might be a cheaper route than the fabric ones. Jerry
Bill_S
Jerry, I've never seen PE belts that come close to looking like the fabric ones. Annealing them is sure to burn off the paint, as well. mpk
modelingbob
I just bought a set but haven't had a chance to actually use them yet. They look pretty good and bend pretty easily (no need to anneal), but we shall see. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/edu32890.htm Has anyone tried these? mpk
Here's a set on my Tojo seat. It may be best to have a look at them. (They do not need to be annealed.) Edited June 29, 2017 by mpk
K5IKL
Here's a set on the Tojo seat. It may be best to have a look at them. (They do not need to be annealed.) Thanks for the pics. Those look pretty passable for this project. Nobody looking in my cockpits but me anyway. Jerry, I've never seen PE belts that come close to looking like the fabric ones. Might give these "steel" PE belts a try for some of the Japanese builds. Thanks for the replies. Jerry
ade rowlands
I have used the steel ones on a couple of 1/48 builds as trying to thread the buckles and whatnot on fabric versions in that scale would have sent me to the asylum and they are a little more pliable than the older type so will contour to the the shape of the seat better but for larger scales I'll stick to fabric types. dutik
