B-29 'Doc' Gets FAA Airworthiness Certificate!

Doc looks nice and shiny (instead of Boeing grey).

 

Last saw FiFi at Harlingen in Dec 1988. It must have been recently overhauled and refurbished back then.

Fifi got 4 new engines a few years back, and she's constantly poured over by a dedicated staff and lacks for pretty much nothing. I can't see anything that would ground her except maybe for airframe fatigue, but service aircraft flew a lot longer than she has and never had fatigue issues.

The B-24 doesn't take even a quarter of the man hours needed for Fifi. That B-29 is one seriously complicated airplane.

Fifi to be grounded? Why?

You would think if the FAA knew of any issues regarding FiFi they would ground her immediately. She is more active than ever and still giving rides.
