Erwin
Hi all, No need to introduce this veteran kit.You all know the plus (if their are any ) and minus points (plenty of those ) on this one. But now you know what keeps me bussy these days.Again just OoB building.
Erwin
Hi, Well,I mentioned the 'minus' points earlier. I tried to fit in the engine, but then the cowling won't fit right. I knew this would happen,as I've made this kit last year too. I decided to have another try, but again the kit is realy so bad fitting that I will have to leave out the engine again. Lancman
Erwin have you tried thinning out the cowling or you could shave some material off the engine block parts before you glue them together and that might help with the fit. Erwin, I do not have this kit (although I wish I did), otherwise I would be able to advise you in a more knowledgable manner. Either the engine is too large for the kit, or the fuselage wall thickness is too thick, or engine mountings are too large or in the wrong postition. I would rather rework the kit fuselage than the engine. Let us know how you get along with it. Best regards Derek

Chris Hannover - Germany
Perhaps you can build the engine and put her next to the plane on a single base ?! Cheers Chris
Erwin
I've added the base-coat camouflage.Don't worry about the strange green I use for a 109. It's only a base. And I do thin down the paint so that one layer more or less will not damage the engraved details. As I paint all my models by brush,I'm making it easy on myself again here by doing an overall black-green 109 Now,if all goes well,it's not going to be a Luftwaffe plane.Even if I do mess up,I can still put early 109 decals on.As the early 109's were olso painted overall black-green. Any guesses on the nationality ? The red rudder gives a clue

Erwin
...changing coulors again.looks more like a cameleon than a 109 Well, first coat of black-green added. Don't mind the strokes, that will go away with the final coat.

Erwin
Do you still know what you do with the engine? Cheers Chris Hi Chris, Thanks for the interest in my Swiss 109. As for the engine.I'm afraid it's a total loss. After all that fiting and sanding I got so fed up with it that it went in the trash.
