Maurice
GDay folks, This is my first topic and new in this forum. I've always been on 1/72/48 and just started to build 1/32 aircraft. I've seen lots of scratch building here, I'll have to level up if I want to catch the pace and quality. This is the new revell Bf109 G6 of Erich Hartmann's back up aircraft. Decals are from Eagle Cals EC#132 first profile on top. Harnesses and wheels are from MDC and are the onle aftermarket goodies I added. I started both cockpits early and late versions. What is interesting about this a/c conf is the late Erla Haube canopy with early short vertical stab. Maybe Major Hartmann had the benefit of the latest advancements of the a/c type before the rest of the pilots. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am. Maurice
More advancement, I'll have to post them in separate replies. Hope you enjoy it. Camouflage of this aircraft is pretty complex, because mottling is expanded all over upr surfaces including wings and hstab. Eagle Cals is referencing basic std colors RLM 74/75/765 all over. I'll have to work in the shades of the mottling if I want to generate enough contrast.
Maurice
Thank you Lain for your comments. Yet more advancement, some basic camouflage pattern with some mottling and post-shading done. Advancement on mottling on fuselage sides:

DaneBramage
WOW!!! Great work. I like the choice of pre-shading color. Works better IMO with the 76 (?) Maurice

Maurice
Thank you folks for the welcoming comments. RLM76 to be pre-shaded instead of flat white or grey primer? Sounds good, never thought this possibility. I used flat white as a primer in order to get paler shades of RLM76 and be able to post shade aferwards, but would not be a bad idea to try 76 right away. Here in more advancement on mottling. As mentioned before this Hartmann's backup mount includes mottling all over upper surfaces, fuselage, wings and hstab grey green RLM 74. I mixed with RLM 83 and flat white so I get a paler shade for the mottling over the wings, this is how it looks so far, not very convinced but I'll keep trying until I'm happy:

Maurice
Well here in some more advancement this morning, I think I'm getting there, at least from my perspective. Quite a particular cmouflage scheme for a particular pilot, Major Erich Hartmann. I would ask to modelling gods to provide a picture of the real thing, just to see if ever I'm getting close to it. SOme more streaking and seal the whole thing up and ready for decals

Maurice
Hi folks, here in some more advancement markings and stencils are already on with a clear coat sealing the whole ship. Now I'll oil wash it on panel lines and rivets. Some more streaking on the exhaust stains, post-shading here and there before giving her an overall dull coat before assembly of other components. Thanks for looking. Cheers
