Kagemusha
Sterling work cutting down the cowl. The XVII had extended oleos, but I imagine this made no difference when on the deck to the length of the u/c.
elric
Hi Andy, yes the oleos were extended not by 8inches but from 5.5 to 8, I have been doing a bit more research [what I should have done in the first place]. nearly finished the instrument panel some bits to add to the ggs area once installed, the seat & rear bulkhead done + the control column also close to complete, want to have the fuselage completed then go back to the wing fold so I can ensure of correct angles. On the instrument panel I have added the twin fuel gauge [ bottom right] & changed the layout of the dials on the left. And to finish on my MkII LR from 152Sqn Portreath 1941 I used the revell MkI/II Kit + airies cockpit set & scratched the fuel tank. Bob. elric
Hi all, Attached the starboard side, seat & control column to fuselage. also attached the instrument panel to front section & started work on the windsreen by first cutting out shape of rounded front from 0:4mm plasi-card then glueing 0:13 clear card to the inside, used the flat fronted windscreen from a hasegawa MkV kit that I had spare & cut of the bottom lower front panel to 2mm of the armoured glass. as usual another one to finish with this time a PR1D of No2 PRU Marble Arch North Africa 1942 Using revell MkI/II kit with long wing tips from a hasegawa MkVI kit + aboukir filter from GMF Bob. elric
not much to show tonight, just the sting, added tail guard + attachment plate & rod. So here is a few pics of one of my favorites the MkIII Seafire, this one of 807 NAS 1945 Singapore. Used the revell MkI/II kit GMF conv. kit for the MkIII & an airies cockpit. elric
Ok fuselage together, some areas required a little putty [or car body filler as that is what I use ],so I will need to re-scibe, tail only tacked on as test fit with a bit of base coat on it, used Alclad white primer as this areas will be a white finish. two more for your perusal. the MkVI from Boscombe Down in 1942, Using the Hasegawa MkVI kit for this. and the MkVII of the Culmhead Wing 1944, used Hasegawa MkV with the GMF conv. kit.
