  1. Hello Erwin Where the upper wing trailing edge meets the fuselage, it is not a straight angle; this covered by a rounded shaped pannel, like this : I hope it's clear on the pic ... Cheers, Stef (#6)
  2. Hello Erwin .. Impressive ! How are you going to make the Karman coverings ? Coming along nicely indeed .... Cheers S(#6)
  3. Thanks a lot Dave The loop was made with a pice of photo etch metal cuted out from the harness sheet I've been using ... The Eduard Fret are now dark tinted, it was doing the trick ... I've been reading that the Trump' 1/24 D9 wasn't flawless in shape, any one concur ? Cheers for now, Stef (#6)
  4. Hello Phil Thanks for the kind words. Indeed I'm definitely not a Luft Buff, but for sure I'm book lover, and the Japo book is a gem; same standard as their 109 books : a rich previewsly unreleased batch of pics, Georgeous color profiles, and a very very deep research. A must have, dare I say Stef (#6)
  5. really cool paint job and weathering, Piet ! I especially like the sun bleaching (is it the correct word for it ?) and by following the different steps it sounds like taht kit was not a day at the beach ... The same company is to release a Macchi 202, an dthat I'm awaiting with impatience ... Again, cool job ! Cheers Stef (#6)
  6. Thanks a lot, gents Well regarding the Su-27 I will be doing it anyway during 2006 .... My wife is threatening to have me sleeping on the Living room sofa if I don't build it ... her favorite plane, you see .... So my fumbling is about the next one to be build during the Su-27 build ... The anti oxidation on the canopy appeared on a pic in the excellent Japo book rencetly released; As the pics of the captured planes did show an NMF canopy I applied that feature .... The diaporama stuff is afetaure from Photoshop, easy to use; however, if you don't have photoshop, you may want tu use Picasa, a free software available from the Google page : simple and easy to use to enhance your pics, it allows several types of framing, easier than doing som HTML coding ... I may be going on with Hellcat ... Thanks again for your comments ... Stef (#6) PS : pour Fab; merci; passe moi un coup de fil si tu as le temps. S.
  7. thanks a lot Now, back to fumbling in the stock to fetch the next one ... Cheers S(#6)
  8. Jay stunning, it is the wood effect is really a stunner really cool ... Cheers Syef (#6)
  9. Thanks, Jay and Brian ... glad you like it .... as for the Messerchnut, well, as I said luftwaffe is not my main interest, so I guess that's a kind of an heresy to their eyes ... I certainly had fun in studying the various and so eclectic painting schemes, and that, was fun ... But I continue to say taht the 109 is not intresting me, anyway. Would rather go for a Me 262. I've been seeing the completed model from the Flight 66 Hobby shop tenant, in Paris; it will be relased in WingMaster, and that one is a killer; he's mastering the weathering tehcniques at a high level ... Now, I have to decide what I will do next, alongside my Su 27 ... Hellcat, MS 406, P-36 .... ? I don't know yet ... or maybe a Ki-84 ... Stef (#6)
  10. hello gnets, Here are some pics of the Completed D9, i hope you'll enjoy. I say almost complete as I have to reprint a red star for the starboard fuselage, which I damaged when applying the wash ... I didn't went overboard with the weathering, as, if I understood well, these bird were captured factory fresh ... I'm interested in knowing these planes were used in combat, or simply for testing ... In order to save LSP's webspace, I've been putting the complete set of pics here : http://rrgriffon.free.fr/d9_web/ but here are some, as an apetizer ... Hope you'll enjoy, and as usual comments remarks and advice are most welcome ... Cheers Stef (#6)
  11. oldie but goodie ! really nice work on an old horse ... These pre-war schemes are always striking .... Cool ! What's coming next ? Cheers Stef( #6)
  12. Stunning, as usual, Brian ! Wouldn't have dare the tissue trick, fearing an out of scale effect, but, you made clear it wasn't ! The completed model will certainly be a killer ... Most enjyable build ! can hardly wait to see it complete and painted .... Cheers Stef (#6)
  13. Hello there Ok, I must clarify what I said : first it was my opinion, just that. It doesn't implies a lake of quality of either resin Kit; Having built the I-16, I didn't use ANY of these ... And my opinion was based on this building experience; I'm not judging one or the other much useful than another; just, made a comparison of content versus price and gave my opinion; I'm not judging Contact kits quality. I certainly used unproperly formulated words and want to apologize for it. Cheers to you all Stef (#6)
  14. no, no ... would prefer the one flying in the background, in 1/32 !!! a Boomerang, yeah ! taht would be cool ! Is ther one already, in 1/32 ? like vacform or whatever ? Cheers Stef (#6)
  15. Hello, Hello Dave Me say they're not worth the value; you may want to go for another french product, made by Fabflight; it offers an open engine front and separate mobile surfaces, wheels and prop and this for only 33 bucks, which is a third of the contact resin set ... and with useful things. by following that link : I16 Fabflight, resin kit, you'll find it built; in french only, but pics do speak for themselves ... here is the website : http://fabflight.free.fr/fabflight.htm fabien speaks english and if you send him a mail he'll be doing things swiftly ... HTH Cheers Stef (#6)
  16. hello jarod, Nope, no turquoise blue in the MiG 19 ... Mig 21, ytes, Mig 23, too ... But Mig 15, 17 and 19, do have a grey cockpit ... The MiG 29, Su-27 do have light blue (very close to RLM 65, in fact) cockpits ... And the trump kit is a killer; there is an egyptian scheme of two tone light blue grey wrap around with orange ID panels outlined in black, that is striking ...... or you can go for a North Vietnam AF (Trumpeter 1/48, this one) Cheers Stef (#6)
  17. hello, gents ! and the P-36 is a real killer ! fine engraving, riveting fine toos, cool resin, etc etc ... and you have the parts in the box to do a french H-75, tooo .... If you want I can make some pic of the sprues and decals heet and send a quick rewiew, say tommorow in the afternoon (europe time) cheers Stef (#6)
  18. Hello sandro pretty good and cool painting job, and the subject you've been choosing is very attractive. Keep us posted ! Stef (#6)
  19. Hello Piet Coming along nicely ! Their Macchi 202 is due here during december, I can hardly wait ! cheers Stef (#6)
  20. hello, Medals were really deserved, for your stunning work. You and Brian are master scratchers, for sure, and more your painting skills are also there, as well ! Been saving all the pics ... Cheers, Stef (#6)
  21. Hello Angelo Really good job on the Lanc, building and painting. If I may ask a question, are going to leave the exhaust stains that way ? Just my opinion, but I find it just a bit too "monochromatic"; I don't discuss shape or telling you went overboard, but I would advocate a little softenning/shading with beige, brown or black, even. Hope you won't mind that little critic, as i think you did a marvelous job, indeed. Cheers and thanks for sharing Stef (#6)
  22. Hello if you're interested in cheap AM IL-2, my usual hobbyshop in Paris has some low cost monoplace (if left), around 30 euros. If it sounds like a faire price to you I may check tomorrow and fetch one for you. I can then ship it to GB ... Let me know ... Cheers stef (#6)
  23. God almighty ! that's crude ... Hum, having the AM kit in the stash, I really call it heroismmmmmm ... (or deep masochism ?! no just teasing !) But, I ain't no reference, has my first and only attempt to vacform kits has only its wings and fuselages separated from the sheet ( an aeroclub Vampire, which is most detailed compared to your Il-2). Then Classic airframe has been releasing one and that was it. Now, what will happens if I do begin my Dynavector Javelin ? a 1/32 Javelin ? Would love it, for sure .... Most impressive anyway, I won't have the patience ... Cheers Stef (#6)
  24. hello Chris, AS said earlier, pretty good job, in uilding painting and weathering ! Love it ! Cheers Stef (#6)
  25. Really cool paint job and weathering Chris ! Das ist sehr Schöen Very nice work ob the prop, especially (addes to the rest, that is ! Cheers, Stef (#6)
