  1. great pics Charles, and thank you for taking the time to post them for all to see. i will PM a few people to see if i can "get the ball rolling", but even if nothing happens for a while, they are still great reference pics!! cheers, Nick
  2. thanks again Guttorm - nice pictures and a great explanation. i guess the "icing on the cake" would be a close up pic inside the cockpit to see examples of exactly how / where the bracket / gun support was fixed to the cockpit interior. i don't ask for much do i??? either way, i know exactly what will happen: when i finally get round to making this bird, and putting the extra guns in, i will then suddenly come across a really clear picture of the aircraft showing i have put the guns in the wrong windows! DOH!!! Nick
  3. thanks Guttorm - do you have any pics of these early varities, or know exactly which window pane the guns would have been put through? cheers, Nick
  4. steve hi, thanks for the post - nice pic showing the rear guns, but i was talking about BEAM machine guns ie they poke out of the side windows, not the rear. i had a look at AIMS decal site on a larger pc screen and could see in their representation the MG in the side...but it's difficult to make some changes to the kit on the basis of this drawing alone. i had another look at Guttorm's BIG Ju88 thread and it's not there - so maybe i saw it somewhere else, or maybe i imagined the whole thing?! oh well...i'll keep on searching / hoping that someone can help out... cheers again though Steve, N PS looks like 1-0 up with 2 to play in the Ashes eh?
  5. Hi there, Eagerly awaiting my Ju88 delivery, I am thinking of doing 3Z+HN W.Nr.7112 of 5./KG77, as pictured on the front of John Weal's Osprey publication Anyway, AIMS decals suggest this aircraft had beam MGs fitted, although the picture on p58 of Weal's book is not clear enough to confirm. so... can someone confirm this was the case (if so, just one MG, or one each side?) and also exactly how were they set up / positioned? i am sure there was some discussion here about them but i can't find it! i have just searched the monster Ju88 detail thread, but may have in my haste missed it... any help / good memory appreciated! cheers, nick
  6. hi guys, when i asked a few months back about Spitfire bombs, fuel tanks, rockets and their associated racks no-one seemed to have the necessary info / scale plans required to make them in resin & PE. Jerry Rutman said (on here) that he can make lots of Spitfire accesories - but needed scale plans... Bob at MDC also said (on here) that they plan to upscale some of their 1/48 stuff - this was back in April but the trail appears to have gone cold... anyway, i have neither the plans nor the mould-making expertise to make these things myself, but i would love to see them made! so..... Charles / Kagemusha, is it possible to share this info with the chaps who can make this stuff?? i'm kind of resigned to waiting for ages before any of this stuff ever gets made in 1/32, but sometime in the next century would be wonderful! yours, in anticipation, Nick
  7. wow - just waded through that thread - that was quite some build!!! does Piet still post on here? i checked his threads etc and it seems he got banned???
  8. that's a cool pic -thanks for posting
  9. Vasko, thanks for the heads up and enjoy your retirement! Tim, best of luck with Grey Matter... I have just looked at the website, and have a quick suggestion: to someone that "stumbles upon" your site, unless they read all the blurb about you also taking the Warbirds stuff, they might think that all you do is fantasy figures. yes, i know i only have the attention span of a goldfish, but then maybe lots of others do too? perhaps have in the main menu 2 clear icons, one for figures / antasy, and once for aircraft / "our" stuff? as a very cheeky request that i have made elsewhere a number of times, any accessories for the Pacific Coast Spitfires (Mk.IX) in 1/32 would be MOST WELCOME!!! eg bombs and the unbelievably elusive bomb racks (can't believe no-one seems to know what they look like?!), drop tanks and racks, rockets and associated racks... anyway, whatever you decide to do, best of luck. Nick
  10. awesome pics and detailed responses Guttorm - as usual! - so thank you once again. i never realised the insides of the 88 were this combination of RLM02 and "gold" - certainly looks more interesting (good), but more challenging to paint (grrrr  ). by the way, if you didn't already know, whenever anyone asks a Ju88 question on other forums (there other forums?? ), pretty much everyone says "check out LSP where there is a guy who has pretty much built an original plane from scratch, and knows EVERYTHING". thanks once again, Nick PS, now the same for a He111 please!!!!
  11. whoops, forgot the "A-..."s!!!
  12. thank you both i have duly bookmarked those links for later download! kind regards, Nick
  13. Hi, In pics i have seen of the real thing there seems to be a "membrane" between the cowling flaps, and wondered whether i am just imagining this, or what it is? I have the Rutman PE parts and resin nose ring / radiator, so was was wondering how best to model this. Ideally, i will model cowling flaps closed, as that looks easier: in this position, do the flap edges touch, or is there still a gap? to me it looks as thouhg there is still a gap between them (although i know this isn't shown in the pic below). i hope i explained myself ok, but here is a pic (shown here before i believe) that hopefully shows what i am on about... all thoughts and opinions welcome. cheers, Nick
  14. the main thing for me would be "buildability" if it is close-ish to PCM's Spitfires etc then i'd love to have one, especially before i shell out the £60+ on aftermarket stuff for my Airfix 1/48 version however, if it is mainly a vac kit then i'll pass, as my moelling skills just aren't up to it. as to sales - i reckon this is a 100% UK bird - no-one in the US has probably even heard of it, and even if they have, they almost certainly have no interest. as far as i can see from this and other forums, if it doesn't begin with the prefix "F-..." then it might as well not exist for our friends Stateside. (nothing wrong with that btw). best of luck Nick
  15. hi, have just gone through this thread - WOW!! hope you come back soon with more pictures etc. Nick
  16. matt, nice looking bird i have this kit and Jerry's update set, plus some PE for the cowl, and the more i think about it all, the more i am getting scared about starting the project your thread however, has shown me the way! thanks once again for taking the time to show us all your work - looks fantastic! Nick
  17. wow what a great build and a very informative log can i ask where Black Dog resin is available from? ideally in the UK if poss thanks Nick
  18. thanks guys what do you use to represent the blast tubes btw?
  19. hi, i have Eduard's 109 E-1 and am getting everything ready for the project. i intend to use MasterModels cool looking brass MG17s for the guns in the cowling, but was wondering whether the wing MGs would also be visible? i know that they did not protrude as such from the wing, but if the end on the barrel was flush with the wing leading edge then they would in theory be quite visible, right? Eduard just gives you a hole in the wing for these guns, and nothing else, so it would be useful to know if i should just leave it at that or get to more barrels. any pics of the aircraft or or technical drawings would be much appreciated. many thanks, Nick
  20. thanks for the heads up to the bottom of the "project pile" the kit goes then!
  21. SPITFIRE for the love of God will someone please come up with some conversion parts / accessories for PCM's Spit in 1/32?! specifically: underwing bomb racks + bombs underwing rocket racks + rockets fuselage bomb rack + bomb fuselage slipper tank fuselage drop tank (Hurricane style-ish) decals for Czech Sqn flown Spits... there, vent over! Nick
  22. interesting that ... 1. the Airfix Mossie is getting kind of trashed / looked down one's nose at before anyone has even seen the thing - come on guys, i thought we were better than that on here. i see this kind of stuff loads on missing-lynx and hyperscale, and thouhgt i had escaped it here. 2. how can you judge the price until you have the kit?? making comparisons to Tamiya, Trumpeter etc etc isn't valid until you have the kit in your hands / read a detailed review. 3. seems to be the assertion that even if it is up to Tamiya quality, it still won't be worth it! are you effing kidding me? if it even comes close to a Tamiya Zero (1/32) then even te highest numbers quoted will make it a stellar deal. it won't be cheap, but you shouldn't equate cheap with deal. (a house "worth" £1m but on sale at £750k is not cheap, but still a deal). come on guys, if it's crap then trash it by all means, but at least let's wait for the damn thing to come out!
