  1. Have been given a part started Tamiya 1/32 Corsair F4U-1 birdcage but have a problem. The fuselage has the parts that fit behind the cockpit to which the clear inserts attach, are already fitted. My problem is that I don’t know if these are for a closed or open canopy. Is there any way of telling? The other option is loose in the box. TIA
  2. Possibly opening a can of worms but here goes Have 2 Tamiya F4U Corsair kits, 1 is a F4U-1 Birdcage and the other is the F4U-1A. Have seen on various sites that 2 of the colours in the instructions are open to question, namely the cockpit and the tail wheel bay. One thing is the F4U-1 should have a Dark Dull Green cockpit the other is the F4U-1A should have a Zinc Chromate Yellow tail wheel bay. As I'm not up with U.S WW2 aircraft, I bow to your superior judgement. TIA Chris
  3. About to start the Zoukei Mura HS129 but looking for advice regarding the seat belt needed. Would the HGW late fighter style be correct? TIA
  4. Looking for 2 answers regarding the Hellcat. Colour of the internal fuel tanks? FAA Hellcats. Did they have Sutton harnesses fitted or did they go with US harnesses? TIA
  5. What were the flaps, elevators and ailerons covered with on the Ho229? We’re they all metal? TIA
  6. Decals in set are: G ----- Gibson J ---- Maltby L -----Shannon P -----Martin T ----- McCarthy T- Tommy had a gun position in the ventral position.
  7. Ordered my set yesterday. Looking forward to getting my hands on it. Dave Maltby's AJ-J for me.
  8. Only 1 World Cup I'll be watching and that's next year in Japan. Can't watch 22 multi millionaires chasing a bag of wind and acting like they've been shot with a 12 bore shotgun.
  9. You'll probably know the pub that I'm on about, Frampton Arms. Good pint and good food
  10. This may be of interest to anybody in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area. WD Models are now starting to stock the Mr Hobby/Mr Colour range of items.
  11. Wrong, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder
  12. I'd seen those but for some strange reason I thought they were only for the pilot. Never mind some day I might grow a second brain cell.
  13. Does anybody produce a complete set of seat harness's for the ZM He219?
  14. That looks like it's been colourised
  15. That's is one nice looking F-4. Where's the runway base from? Just recieved the ZM 1/48 scale decals for the 74sq F-4J (UK) ready for when they re-release their 'J' version later this year.
  16. Should have said in my original posting that I mean fit and ease of build. I do like ZM kits, but for me I think they are over engineered as I'm not all that bothered about everything being on show. That of course is my view. Saying that, if the ZM kit was the better of the 2 then I would go with that one.
  17. Appologies if this has been asked before so here goes. As ZM amd HKM both produce the Do335A, which is rated as the better kit?
  18. I'd possibly get 2 of these. Can't beat getting your hands on a pair of big jugs
  19. If I managed to get one of the kits it would probably be PA177 HW-J Jug and Bottle of 100q RAF Grimsby. While visiting relations in Grimsby, we went for a meal in a pub called Jug and Bottle. This had the walls covered in photos from most of the local bomber bases. Also Found out that the pub was called Jug and Bottle as it was built on the actual pan that PA177 used.
  20. Finally got to fondle the plastic of the Zoukei Mura He219 that the wife got for Xmas. Looking at the instructions the colour call outs are given for Vallejo acrylics. Never used these but the lhs has started to stock these along side Humbrol and Tamiya paints. What is Vallejo like to spray or should I stick to Humbrol and Tamiya. Any tips greatfully recieved.
  21. Laugh all you want but I bet somebody, somewhere, will have a go at modelling one. Just think of the mileage you'd get if a group build was done.
