  1. Cheers Alan, look really nice. Payment sent! Patrick
  2. Alan, Could you put me down for a set of these at all, please? Patrick
  3. Very nice looking illustrations. I'm reading the excellent Brett Gooden book on the Natter currently and thoughts are gradually turning to modelling, so thanks for posting that Patrick
  4. That'd be the badger! Star man - thanks for that! This beast isn't going to be immediate, I have a good four models ahead in the build queue, wish to cut (break?) my teeth on the 32nd prior and ideally want to get hold of the Airfix Classic Aircraft book (which I found and ignored in a second-hand place in Auckland - serve me right) for the fuselage framing. Still, it is in a plastic bag at my feet in the (small) cave so it WILL get done. God willing Thanks again, Patrick
  5. Would anyone be prepared to scan the instructions for me? I was given one by a friend, alas without paperwork and some of the assorted bits of Merlin etc look quite daunting without a map. MTIA - Patrick
  6. Nor me really, not really ready yet (apologies.) Still, did wonder about the 129. Mine scares me Patrick
  7. Lynn, Did you put pictures up of the finished Panzerknacker? Love to see them... Patrick
  8. Thanks, sir I guess however I am already in the hole though - the very good Hiscock book on the Hurricane arrived yesterday and the postie just brought a bag of (quite awesomely pretty) remedial bits from Grey Matter. A little later on in the year... Patrick
  9. This site is good, isn't it? A very kind gentleman sorted me out offline with a Hurricane, then I read the build article on 'Dear Old G' (well I mean, it has to be done, doesn't it?), discovered Grey Matter, added Visa and cockpit and prop are now prettily sorted Thank you admin, posters and modellers (that's you, Mr B, lovely bit of mastery on the cockpit!) Patrick
  10. No doubt could have, quite easily Yes, thanks for that - though I did a little bit of looking around and...there does seem to be a bit of a general run on Spits and Hurricanes right now. This must be good - could be a bit of a party thing happening! Patrick
  11. Thanks for that, sir. I confess I am not hugely interested in the shake and bake variety (don't see the point, haven't got the money) but am equally not a particularly accomplished modeller, so am seeking something I don't have to saw in half and add a 4mm extension to Hmm. Bash on in the quest for a partner aircraft for the (Matchbox) Emil I'd like to do for the Summer. Thanks again, Patrick
  12. Ah, that's the one shown on Mr Brinzan's web site eh? Marvelous work, worthy of high kudos. Thanks for posting that!
  13. Could I have opinions on this, please? Kit #00018 I believe. Mainly interested in (assuming this to be a 20+ year old re-box) whether the shape is seriously flawed or horribly wrong. Is this kit worth investing time and money in? Many thanks in advance, Patrick
  14. Kev, You're more than welcome (though it's a manky, ripped old box as even my photography shows.) To flog a dead horse however (as I own the odd Frog model and grew up with the Novo re-issues) - when Frog were circling the pan, they bought in Hasegawa stuff? I'm intrigued, as was brought up on the idea that Hasegawa were later and picked up the jets and Luftwaffe subjects when Frog folded... Patrick PS I read your excellent and heroic build, and decided to hold back on this subject until after completing some of the Airfix and Matchbox alternates. Did you sort yourself out with a Matchbox Emil in the end, sir?
  15. Just as an aside, I picked up a copy of this kit last weekend at the Yeovilton Model Show: Been after one for a while as I had one, and horribly messed it up, some 30+ years ago. Seems like a long time, anyway. So I thought Hasegawa bought the moulds from Frog? This one has a familiar stamp on it: Or even closer: Did Hasegawa do the moulds for Frog then? Confused! Patrick
  16. Eek. Sorry to read that Steve, thoughts and prayers felt/made. This thread is highly inspiring though and your work awesome. Patrick (capable of losing house keys standing in the middle of a room without touching anything.)
  17. While accepting that people who post from forum to forum are generally weevils, I just copy this in case anyone missed it. Check out the locks on the access panels
  18. Just wondering - if so: care to share good/bad points? Retail therapy got the best of me. Got an ickle 72nd one, this comparatively huge beast just looked different to all the 109's and 190's I haven't started on yet MTIA, Patrick
  19. OK... I'm Patrick, lurk far more than post. This is the cave: (need a wide angle.) It's getting slowly improved. Spots on the wall from ripping off the work aids from the last project Some big stuff: (the shoe box is a JR Ta152H) This may or may not go down well but the scale thing is not quite as black and white for me as for some posters. I've got a deep desire to make the larger scale beasts but also a love for the smaller things. More subject than size Hence, for example, my 262's: That's Trumpeter & Revell in 32nd (wish I could find the 21stC in 18th), Tamiya/Trimaster/Italeri/Dragon/Monogram (Pegasus in the post) in 48th, Revell, Spec Hobby, Matchbox & Smer in 72nd, Tamiya in 100th and the totally gorgeous little Eduards in 144th... I guess in numbers got far more 48th than anything else. Suits me. I'm going to really enjoy the 24th's etc when the time is right but for now it's just nice to know they're there, and watch other people modelling...
  20. J-aircraft is great for info on this subject, guys...
  21. Yes, but JR, the rest of us appreciate the sacrifices you make...
