Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all. Its been a while since I was last on had a sort of a break and other reasons. I'm looking for some help on a kit I was bought for Xmas from my Partner. She got me the Takom V1 with the interior. The problem I have is the kit has no guide for the interior colour of the body, the parts that fit inside the the body, the inside of the wings and even the wing ribs. I understand or think the body had some sort of anti corrosion paint which was a red sort of colour but what about the rest? Tried the internet etc but nothing much has really been clear...Anyone have any clues or can give me a link to a good site? Many thanks Mark

Bruce, Will be following this very closely as it's one kit I have wanted for ages but couldn't afford. Now due to some good fortune I can get this but first it's my all time fav aircraft 1/32 Lanc!!

John, Just read this WIP from the first page today while listening to the wind and rain courtesy of storm Freya and I am just blown away ( not sure if that was a pun ) by your work. I have the 1/32 B-24 on the way ( yup I know about the problems ) and the way you weathered your 262 is a great inspiration to me. The whole a/c just looks right!! I just hope I can get the Lib to look as worn and used as your 262 as I have some great pics to work from. Just a shame your finished now but I have book marked this WIP....Hope you don't mind? Regards Mark

Many thanks for that info Mike. I was looking for one or two letter codes not just a tail flash as an Id....Know wonder I couldn't find it!! Now just to find the 12 AF 47 BG which was based at Bury St Edmunds in Dec 42 and that's the last piece of the jigsaw so I can get on with step two of this mad project!! Once again many thanks Mike. Just realised a mistake I've made. I said they were based at Bentwaters but it should have read Bungay ( also know as Flixton ) in Suffolk. Hope that may give someone a clue to work on? Cheers Mark

Thanks Brian that's what i'm hoping for I need those codes to start my project but all i'm doing at the moment is banging my head against the wall Mark

Hi folks can anyone help? I am trying to find the Squadron code for aircraft of the USAAF 12 AF 428 BS who were part of the 310 BG. They were based at Bentwaters in Suffolk for a brief period ( Oct - Nov 42 ) with B-25's before moving to Italy I think. I have been going through all my books and come up blank and tried searching the web under everything I can think of to no avail, that's where you peeps come in!! Does anyone have a clue? Cheers for the help... Mark

Picking up so many tips from you guys on here. Brian all i can do is look in awe at the work your doing and hope to one day be a quarter of the modeller you are!! Mark -
Going with my gut its gonna be the Spit I have so many fly this way and also the P-51 that it seems the right route to go for me and thanks for the advice!! Thats what I love about this site Mark
-
Cheers Mike, Looking like it will be the Revell Spit11a as for getting to Hannants i would if we had a car it got written off before Xmas when the Mrs had an accident in it ( not her fault ) and yeah been to Flixton before. What i would like to do is also build aircraft that flew from Ipswich airport during WW2 and there were a few its just a case of me doing all the research which i'm in the process of. Cheers Mark

Was building the 1/72 Defiant by Airfix in 264 sqd markings based at Martlesham in 1940 but as I said the scale is just to small!! As for noisy pointy things i'm not a lover of them. Give me a nice prop driven plane any day!! Was lucky enough to be at Clacton a few years back when they had two Lanc's flying the one from the BBMF and the other one from Canada.....As I said to the Mrs seeing that was better than sex!! Still think she is p$**%d with me!! Mark
-
Cheers for all the input folks plenty to think about but i'm leaning towards the Revell Spitfire 11a good price and also plenty of AM if I decide to go that route. Cheers Mark
-
Cheers for the advice guys i have been going through Hannants site ( as I've used them before ) and the prices are not so bad......Just have to decide what i want but its gonna be WW2.. Cheers Mark
