  1. Thanks Mike, I did enjoy the painting as it felt like I was back in primary school. The paint fumes were also thrilling. Who needs stimulants when you can inhale spray paint fumes involuntary. Monty
  2. Greetings and salutations. Please permit me to present my build of the Trumpeter kit. This was really the recommencement of me doing models again as I had not done any for almost 15 years so I ventured into the valley of woe not knowing if this was going to work or not. This was straight out of the box as I did not know at the time, early 2012, that manufacturers such as Eduard made detailing kits. I wish I had know back then what I know now. This was also the first time I had used sprays for a model of this size so it was also fraught with danger and trepidation. It took me nearly 4 months to complete as I was very busy with work so I did as much as I could when I could. I also embellished wherever I could to add a bit of colour to the finished article. The purist must hate me for taking such liberties with paintwork and weapons loads. Such is life. This is the engine painted and upon reflection, I probably would not paint it again given you can't see anything of it so it is waste of valuable time. The inside of the beast. Again, whilst it is done, I could have avoided it as you can't actually see anything of it. Seating arrangement. Very crude even if I do say so myself. Front wheel bay. I decided to add some colour to it. One of the best colour schemes in my opinion Avionics bay. Took me about 3 weeks to paint this as I kept stuffing it up and I wanted to make it as colourful as possible. There are one each side hence the time it took to complete them Rear wheel bays. Again, I added as dash of colour. Slowly it comes together Completed So that was the first of a very expensive reintroduction into the modelling world. Regards, Monty
  3. Tom, The A 10 is like my SWMBO - ugly as sin but I love it. And her. Actually she is quite attractive but don't tell her. Your work is like Halle Berry - absolutely stunning. Is there a WIP thread? Regards, Monty
  4. Absolute masterpiece and great to see so many weapons on it. Love it Montgomery
  5. Brilliant Barney. By the way, you can't have a SWMBO as I already have one of those ! Monty
  6. Barney, I did forget to mention that I too had issues posting despite all my attempts. I did read somewhere from another contributor that the cache on your computer needs to be cleared of previous files as that can block posting if the memory is too small. I also did forget to include this point in my instructions above. Once you have logged in and want to post, simple hold the control key and press F5 simultaneously. This will clear the cache and you should not have any issues after that. Trust this helps. Steve
  7. Outstanding build. Your cockpit work is sensational. The great John Holmes would be proud of your work on the cockpit. Montgomery
  8. Exceptional. What else can I say? Montgomery
  9. Ok so where is the model? That is obviously the real one. In a word, simply spiffing. There are modellers and there are modellers, you sir are a modeller. Montgomery
  10. In a word absolutely magnificent and a credit to your modelling abilities. Looking forward to the finished product with great anticipation. Montgomery
  11. This is just a master class in how to build a model. Truly one of the great works of art. Now all the other children are going to be jealous. Off for a quick chukka old chap. Looking forward to the next update. Monty
  12. Hi Barney, I too had problems with posting photos on this site and also the Britmodeller site. I believe quite a few people also had problems. I found the solution was as follows. 1. Click on the very left icon of the panel when trying to post. All the toolbar icons are rendered null. 2. Type what you need to ( if in fact you are writing something) 3. Go to photo bucket and click on the 5th option ( IMG) on the right and it should tell you it has copied the image you want to post. ( see extreme right of screen shot with the various options I had a problem with getting all those options to pop up but I managed to update photobucket to get those options. Unfortunately I can't remember where it was on the Photobucket page but it is there so have a play with it and it will come up. 4. Come back into this panel and simply right click on your mouse and select paste. It then pastes the photo. 5. You won't be able to see the photo attached until you post it. 6. You can then come back and edit if you need to. This is the only way I can post anything on here and I am NOT using Explorer 11. I am using an older version of explorer and am not having any problems. Hope this helps as it was extremely frustrating and I empathise with you. regards, Steve
  13. Thanks Bill. I look forward to your build. It is a great kit apart from the decals. Patience required as you can make it as detailed as you wish. If I had used all the Eduard bits I would still be going this time next year. Monty
