  1. Confused? Build will include pilot? What about those wonderful belts?
  2. Carl, I clean as a I go, just like I clean as I cook... :-)
  3. Beautiful work...makes me wanna get a degreaser and clean it up a bit!
  4. Some progress...Assembled as much as possible and even shot some primer/color coat! I can definitely see the shape issues with this kit, but you know what? I wouldn't know what they were unless I read about it here...
  5. Providing any feed back in this forum is very difficult for someone like me. The quality of work displayed here is extremely intimidating so your response is very reassuring. Thank you.
  6. Gorgeous work, sir, but the seat belts looks a bit too clean to my eyes.
  7. You're right Max, I am on a mission (as silly as this may sound given real-world situations at the moment..). I feel the need to finish this. Long story, short -- I'm challenging/testing myself with this build. Too humid to paint this evening so I continued to assemble as much as I can. I think I've assembled more than 80% of this kit so far. I need the glue to cure before cleaning any seams up a bit. Good night/Good morning/Good afternoon everyone!
  8. I agree! Parts require some cleaning as well. But, I'll stop complaining given that I got it for a little over $20 U.S.
  9. Most of cockpit components assembled, ready for painting. Yes, the lower half of the bulk head holding the IP was cut -- I'm afraid, I got a little ahead of myself during assembly, but I like the idea of assembling as much as possible before painting. This is DEFINITELY not awell engineered Tamiya kit! That sprue cutter I got from UMM-USA is a godsend -- that's for sure! Those rivets...
  10. Beautiful rendition! I'll be happy if mine looks half as good!
  11. ..well, looks like I'm a glutton for punishment (and I forgot the purpose of the build as well). Kit's really not all that bad once I took a second look. Bathe in soapy water for an hour/rinsed and being air dried...
  12. Thanks for kind words, gents...this is my neice, not mine. Trust me, she gets a boat-load of attention from everyone. With me? She just hangs out with me and do nothing but watch her favorite videos on Netflix. She get's to vegetate with me and do nothing but just chill (she's got enough activities -- music lessons, especially which I KNOW she doesn't enjoy, soccer, golf, etc..) Looks like she flung the Spit and somehow ended up stepping on it -- it won't be salvageable. I started looking at the Revell Spit and oh my...it is crude. So crude, I'm not sure I want to spend any time/money making it presentable to even with my meager standards. I've seen some excellent builds on this forum of this model, but I can't seem to get over the lack of detail/crispness of it. Many props to those who build it. I might get another kit, but we'll see if I can muster any will to finish it... Cheers!
  13. Looks fantastic, Max! Just like the picts of the real stuff I see online.
  14. Not sure..at this point. But, I've calmed down. I'm pretty sure she knows that she's done something wrong because she was hiding from me. I'll just give her a good lecture later, but she knows she's done wrong. No regrets -- this build was definitely a learning experience. But wow, there was a lot of time invested...Ouch.
  15. Well...gents, it's been a pleasure, but looks like I can't continue because a 6 year old and scale models simply should not mix. I might start the Revell if I can calm down a bit. Good luck to you all!
  16. I'm waiting for some masks as my attempt to make my own was a bit lacking (I can't seem to cut the smaller circle cleanly). So I moved on to the props...I love this paint. Thinned with a drop of water and a drop of flowaid -- it brushes just beautifully on black primer.
  17. Wow..I do appreciate it, but at this point everything's been OOTB, so I'll respectably decline. I might still sand/prime it to see how it goes, but it's a minor issue. Thank you. LSP is such a great online community -- the absolute best. The wash looked pretty messy, so I went back to "blend" it a bit more using one of those spongy based make up applicator -- QTip leaves way to much dust/fiber on the model. I just received it a 100-pack from Amazon yesterday for a good price.
