dsahling1
Does anyone know or have a diagram, photos, WIP that show what (if any) rivet detail that needs to be added to the Tamiya 1/32 F-4J. I'm moving along with an F-15C build that had me add in a lot of rivet detail and I got some good tools that make this task far easier and was wondering if someone knew about the the rivet detail on the Tamiya F-4J? Tony T
I'd leave it well alone but some consider the titanium fasteners under the tail worth reworking. These are positive, not indented. Mostly, the airframe needs lots of neglected placards in the cockpit, on the LG and LG doors and airbrakes; and a few "dielectric" panels around or in the Sparrow recesses. Guest Maxim
I agree with Tony in the above post. Every F-4 I've seen, I have never seen many rivets except around the tail area. With modern day finishes such as primer coats and camo etc most rivet detail is covered up on real aircraft. Each to his own and it's your model you can do whatever you think looks best. Good luck with whatever way you choose.
TonyT
Ahh the mighty Phantom.... 100,000 loose rivets in close formation... You do not tend to see much on modern fighters, paint layers etc as stated take care of that. Edited October 12, 2017 by TonyT
