wingman777
if any of will probably remember but I was going to build this kit as my 2nd entry to the Rising Sun group build. I've hit a flat spot for modeling which is very unusal for me. I suspect it could be an overload from the contest our model club just did or that I bought a new joystick for the pc. I've been burning up the skies up in CFS2 and Pacific Fighters which is fun but has eaten up all my modeling time. Either wayI'll try to get back on track and do this kit justice. Several of you have done this one and it has real potential. Well here's where I left off and where I"ll pick it back up...I don't think 25% of the kit has been completed yet but judge for yourself. perry
Not a big fan of Japanese aircraft but, I remember building one of these in 1/72 scale when I was a kid and, it's probably my fave of Japanese aircraft. So, carry on, I'm watching....
LSP_Kevin
Nice to see you back mate. I've got one of these in the stash too, but no stickers. Looking forward to following your build of it! Kev

ruzlkampf
Oooooh myyyyy, yes the flight-sims eat time like candy. IL-2 '46 is even better,....about 300 sumthin AC from all theatres....and 1000's of free 'scale' paint/map downloads. Too much fun. About time you decided to join in the shenanigans dude! Can't wait to see if you'll actually be able to build this OOB? Yeah, right! Ha ha, whatever way you decide to go with it, I can't wait to see what it morphs into. Nice easy kit parts-wise,.....and a hoot to build. Looking forward to following along buddy! Later, Russ
wingman777
Well I finally made a little progress on the Oscar. This is a nice kit as far as I'm concerned. A guy could build this kit start to finish in a single dayif he wanted to. The engine is nicely detailed and thats a shame because none of it will be visible once the model is completed. The parts are few and basic, just like the real Ki-43. So here we are...a little glue and a little paint going on.

wingman777
then it happens...I hear eerie organ music and diabolical laughter from the corner of the hobby table. It's Igor and some more of the mutilated model figures from the N1K2 build I did in the "Rising Sun" group build. (If you didn't see that then none of this will make any sense) Igor reminds me that its October and that I need to do something "frightful" with this build. This one is so easy that I have to prevent it from falling into the boring build category. I hate to even ask him what he has in his melted plastic mind. wingman777
I look around and find these sinister tools of special effects and destruction freshly robbed from a crypt. A plan begins to formulate and the model room is transformed into a mad scientist laboratory. I will attempt to transform this lifeless pile of plastic into a living, breathing, twisted and deformed being of terror. Or as Russ called his Oscar "The Two-Gun Terror!!!! wingman777
Don't look if you're faint of heart. The dremel tool begins ripping, gouging and burning plastic. EEEEIIIIIIIIAAAAHHHHHH!!!! (dramatic music here) Soon only a trace of the kit firewall and floor are visible. Who would do such a thing and why? What terror, can nobody stop this madness?! wingman777
Of Course Igor is a modeler, note his optivisor. Thats why he has that huge hup on his shoulder...its from being bent over a model table for hours, no...days at the time. MWAHAAHAHAHAHAAAHHAHA!! ruzlkampf
Of Course Igor is a modeler, note his optivisor. Bwhahahaha! Whoohoo!, good to see ya back at it 'wingman'. I actually dropped my pudding cup in wild wonder reading that! Sheesh, I actually thought it was his exposed brain, or an in-progress new 'grrr-look'? (aaaargh-look? ) Oh yes, we wonders what all those sparkly little trinkets and wires he has laid out are for, donts we Russ? Definitely can't wait to see what comes outta the 'wingman-cave' next; Obviously gonna be some kind of "bubble-bubble-toil and trouble" witches-brew of eye of newt, and wing of bat concoction of hilarity! Don't make us wait too long for an update, eh buddy?! Again, good to see ya back. heh heh.
