  1. John Do you have any estimate as to when these kits may be available?
  2. Last year there was a discussion of a pending Bf110G conversion for the Dragon kit. Was that simply a rumor or has anything substantive developed in the meantime?
  3. Revell accidentally had an example of the single seater on display at the US Nats. I expect the release date will be late 2017 or 2018
  4. Thank you, Radu I had been told that there was an issue with the canopy but never received the level of detail that you have provided. Looks like another opportunity for a conversion kit. The only problem being the limited number of 2 seat Me-262's built
  5. Can the trainer version be built from this kit? Or is there some fundamental difference between the night fighter and the trainer? Radu?
  6. My kit came with an incompletely formed center canopy section ,part X-1. Has anyone else experienced that problem and can anyone propose a source other than Trumpeter for a replacement part? Overall the kit appears to be accurate using the Hasegawa kit as a basis for comparison.
  7. Using the MDC kit as a template I layed the FLY kit out against Radu 's model last night to determine the modifications needed and the following things stand out: 1. The fuselage profile is too round and may not be correctable due to the thinness of the plastic 2. The fuselage is too long- Probably correctable 3. The tail fin is too tall- Probably correctable 4. The wings are too long toward the tip- Probably correctable 5. The front edge of the wings needs to sweep backward several degrees at mid-length-Probably correctable 6. The flaps and ailerons need to be revised-Probably correctable 7. The engine nacelles are too long- Probably correctable 8 The engine / wing connection will need modification I may be overly optimistic but at this point I don't know for sure what can be accomplished I agree with Nick that the kit ,built out of the box, will look like an AR-234. The built up model at Telford certainly looked nice. Without a good set of plans and Radu's comments at Telford I would have been satisfied with the kit. All of my above comments only mean that construction will be more of a challenge. I am now waiting for the FAOW book to arrive from Japan to get a set of plans to work with before I tackle the model. Jeroen's review will also certainly be most welcome
  8. I have it on very good authority that their next release is a G-4 but I don't know the timing of the release. I would certainly welcome a G-2 and G-6AS
  9. The kits are not going to be available until 2016 according to the "old Man"
  10. Owl Decals has a sheet for this plane in 1/72 and 1/48 scale. You may wish to look at his website. Also these mountings are exactly like those twin mounts for the Me-410 and Me-110G so rather then looking at single engine applications I suggest you look at those 2 aircraft types http://eshop.owl-czech.eu/detail/1:48-1/1:48-ju-88-c-6-with-wgr-21/
  11. My response would not have been so definitive if I had bothered to open the KG55 book. The tail cartoons on G1+HP are the ones identified as KG27 markings in Waiss's book. To be fair there are a whole series of other KG27 He-111s with very similar markings. Also further research shows the 1G+ES was a KG27 He111 with a different werk number. So retracting my earlier statement Revell does seem to have gotten it wrong
  12. The short answer to your question is " no". The Revell markings are correct. See: Boelke- Archiv Band III by Walter Waiss self published in Germany in the 1990s. There are actually 7 volumes of this Unit history - all in German. KG27 was named the Boelke Geschwader There are 2 photos of the tail markings with the Werk Nr 1992
  13. I have started building the kit so here a few more observations 1. The instructions do not cover the installation of the wing guns although they are included 2 The kit shares parts with the "D" and the instructions would have you install D bomb racks under the wings 3. The kit has a 1800Kg main bomb that the B could not lift so go to MDC for a replacement 4. The propellor blades are for a D model and are too broad- will need resin replacement 5. I think the usual Trumpeter rubber tires are too narrow 6 The jericho sirens on the wheel spats are missing All these are correctable and I give the kit an overall high rating
  14. Jerry I am not worried about finding a set of racks. The Hasegawa FW190F has some or I can use them as masters. They aren't very complex. You are right that there is a long list of things that can be attached to an Hs129. Don't apologize for a great kit. I was seeking clarification and not criticizing . Del
  15. My kit is currently flying over the Atlantic. The moulding looks beautiful and I can't wait to start the kit. There is one thing I notice when I look through the photo of the small parts. I do not see the ETC bomb racks for under the wings that all the B-1s and B-2s carried. This was a feature that surprised me when I first read the Classic Hs129 book. They are in all the profiles in the book. I am not nitpicking. Its not a big deal, I am sure I can steal some from another kit but are they included or not?
