Mal_Belford
Im looking for a substitue for Humbrol Clearfix, it works great but is shrinks and need to be done twice o three times when doing IP glasses. Is there a product that doesnt shrink at all when i dries and is clear and looks thick enough to look like glass. /Mal Zero77
Guest Peterpools
Mal Two great products I've used for a billion years: Micro Kristal Kleer and gallery Glass. My preference is for Krystal Kleer as it is thicker, and has a million and one applications as well. I used Krystal Kleer on the Typhoon for the instruments glass and it looks great BTW, neither have any odor at all Peter Edited January 20, 2015 by Peterpools

Out2gtcha
Big Thanks buddy.... Ive placed a order on micro kristal kleer..... Ill try that asap on a new build.... /Mal Id have to agree with Peter Mal, the MS Kristal Klear is pretty good stuff. Id just recommend putting a layer on, then letting that dry completely before putting any more on for instruments. I have also had luck attaching clear parts with it that are light, and dont require any pressure for attachment. Ive also used it to make windows as well. Guest Peterpools
Mal Right with Brian .. I also use Krystal Kleer for attaching small parts, canopies HUD glass and the biggie: PE. It's awesome for gluing PE in place. Just a little bit on the PE part, place and press. Any glue that seeps out, just wipe off with a damp Q-tip. Krystal Kleer is water based so clean up is a snap. Once it dries in a few minutes, the PE is in place rock solid. Peter
Mal_Belford
Big Big Thanks Peter and Brian..... Ive used PVA glue before to attach dwtails on canopys and so on....but Kristal sounds is the way to go for Mals Way then /Mal

322SqnNL
Does this MS Kristal Klear also do the trick for vacuform canopies?
Out2gtcha
Does this MS Kristal Klear also do the trick for vacuform canopies? It does. However, the caveat with that being that it is still a vac canopy, and does not change its confidingly soft/bendable properties, and makes it no easier to deal with. The MS klear does bond well to vac canopies. That being said, I have just now received my order for this: I will subsequently be trying this out for attaching canopies as well as PE, so I will let all know after such trials. 322SqnNL
322SqnNL
Just for comparison's sake, what about Revell Contacta Liquid Special? From the description it seems to be doing a sturdier job than Humbrol Clearfix without messing up the clear parts.

I use the thick variety of this all the the time now, and find it indispensable. I'll often use it place of CA for joining dissimilar materials. Works great for canopies too! EvilCarrot
You might wanna give this a try too. It's a glue that dries nice and clear under UV light. I've glued two canopies with it so far, very strong connection! I've tested it on a piece of plastic like in the video. It stayed clear after drying but it wasn't entirely solid and felt a bit rubbery. Sanding and polishing seem to be out of the question but I think it would work nicely for IP glasses. Zero77
Has anybody already tried the Microscale Microweld? It is said to be stronger than other plastic cements, non toxic, cleaner, does not deform small parts and especially does not damage clear parts. Is it really so good?
