Out2gtcha
Looks great! I just tonight did the IP "glass" on my F7F. Having never used it before, and like you, normally using Future, I for the first time tonight used "Bondic" UV curing gel. It worked better than I could have hoped for. It's thick enough to stay put, and thin enough to flow into the instrument circles. The included UV light cures the gel in place in about 4 seconds. There seems to be enough gel in the starter pack I got for under $15, that I might be able to do all the LSPs in my stash.
Cap'n Wannabe
I might have to get some of that Bondic stuff, and give it a go. The frustrating (only slightly) thing about the Discus is the front IP has instrument detail moulded into it, whereas the rear one doesn't, so perhaps something a touch thicker would do to replicate the instrument glass. Cap'n Wannabe
Thankfully the IPs are a pretty easy fix - just mask off the panel and repaint the outer areas. Still, it was a bit of a kick in the guts! Should've painted them when I did the rest of the grey..
Cap'n Wannabe
This afternoon, I got off my butt and fixed the IPs. Of course, I had to get it wrong one final time first, but now they sit in the corrected grey. Only the headrests to paint now, then I can start assembling stuff! Yay! Cap'n Wannabe
Well, that was *really* smart.....I just painted the headrests in the wrong bloody shade of blue! Oh well, at least I can strip these and start over.. LSP_Kevin and RLWP
RLWP
You know what your problem is, you've got too many pots of paint! Richard
Cap'n Wannabe
Is that even possible?? Anyhow, having selected the right blue (from the *two* Vallejo blues I have..) I repainted the headrests, and began gluing stuff into the RH fuselage side. Most went in ok, some I had trouble with, and I managed to bend the shafts on the yellow handles under the IPs. The rear IP gave me a bit of trouble, so I'll glue that in after I close up the fuselage. Such is life, I guess.. The sausage of blue-tac under the rear headrest is there to support it while the glue dries...there was only one point of contact for it! Cap'n Wannabe
Got the fuselage together at last. The wingspan on this thing is huge, even without the winglets attached! Where am I going to put it when it's done? Gazzas, Out2gtcha, LSP_Kevin and 2 others
Out2gtcha
Looks grand! Its a good feeling to get to a step like fuselage closure after misc issues. The wingspan on this thing is huge, even without the winglets attached! Where am I going to put it when it's done? Hang it from the ceiling? RLWP
Hang it from the ceiling? I have been considering that myself. Gliders don't seem to belong on the ground Richard KiwiZac and Out2gtcha
