Guest The Southern Bandit
Good review of a great kit, considered selling mine last year but was convinced by a friend it would be a mistake to do so and I know agree on that, really want to build this one someday soon. Its an utterly amazing individual one of a kind kit, the different ways it can be built help make it that way, that and the iconic nature of the real subject matter of course.Still to decide on building way, as a skeleton, or wing covered and painted as if it were in service, or wings covered and semi transparent (even though slightly frosted) to hint at the skeleton underneath ... I'd probably build it as a skeleton I think but would make my mind up soon after construction started. The kits construction is something I feel I'd enjoy more than most kits, perhaps challenging, but totally different construction and methodical and careful methods needed too I imagine ... something really different to try for a change. This really is a very very special kit I feel and i cant believe I almost parted with mine. Out2gtcha and dpastern

I keep all my ZM kits and will consider a deadly sin selling any of them. They will require time and patience, but it will worth the wait. It is true, that will be hard for one to make a decision about the way to present this flying wing. I guess that was the reason behind the 48th scale twin of this beast. Cheaper and space-saving option to present it in another way, different from the bigger one. dpastern
Guest The Southern Bandit
Thanks Eagle Driver, never knew Zoukei-Mura produced a 1/48 HO-229 as well, think I'll get one to display along side my 1/32 Wing when its finished and do one or the other as a skeleton build.I sometimes buy Jets like the Tamiya F-16 in 1/32 and their 1/48 F-16 too, looks kinda good side by side, same with the Tamiya 1/6 Motorcycles, I get their 1/12 Bikes of same example too when I can just for the display novelty in the two different scales. Eagle Driver
I think many people do sets in different scales. Good example with the -16. I had them both too. I also had -15 and MiG-21 set. Latter one being 72nd and 48th. So yes, Zoukei-Mura make 48th scale. Horten 229, Ta-152 and Shinden. They also do airbrushes and tools. Something that I recently discovered too. JamesHatch
The ZM Ho 229 was one of the best models I've ever built. It builds and fits beautifully. I have another in stash, and a 1/48 partially built. Can't recommend it enough. dpastern

I'll have to pick one up, when I can afford it (I'm an impoverished university student now), especially since I'm a fan of your builds James. EvilCarrot
I recently bought one as well. For those who built the kit, do you reckon it would be possible to make some of the panels removable? I'd love to build it with a fully painted exterior but it 'd be a shame to have to cover up all that beautiful internal detail...
