Shawn M
I would very much like to replace the 20mm barrels on my 1/32 Typhoon MK1B I'm building, but cannot find any aftermarket units that would be correct. I see tons for all the wing type of Spitfires and even Hurricanes, but no Tiffy bits. My kit bits are more oval then round and I dont feel like I can save them, no do I want to scratch my own. Any ideas, solutions, etc?
BloorwestSiR
I just received a couple different Master barrels for Spitfires. I can compare them to the resin ones in my MDC Tiffie and see if there's a suitable match if you like. Carl kalashnikov-47 and Shawn M

kalashnikov-47
Well darn. I had been wondering the same thing. I recently bought some Typhoon exhausts from MDC, but had completely forgotten about the gun barrels!
LSP_K2
I don't know enough about the Spitfire cannons to say if they were the same as used on the Typhoon, but I assume they were, therefore the Master barrels would seem to be the best choice. . BloorwestSiR
Here's what I have. From top to bottom: - Spitfire C wing for Tamiya kit - Spitfire E wing for PCM kit - Spitfire 22 for Revell/Matchbox - MDC Typhoon cannon Master also make the C wing option in the longer barrel lengths for the PCM kit. Hope that helps. Carl LSP_K2, kalashnikov-47 and Shawn M
Shawn M
awesome Carl thank you! Could I ask you to measure the diameter of the MDC barrels for me at the base? I will need to drill out the wing openings
Shawn M
The link above, worked fine for me. I meant when i searched for the canon barrels that MDC was not in the search results. Link worked and I ordered a set yesterday LSP_K2

There is a comment in some of my ref materials that "modified" spitfire units could be used on the tiffy but there is no further info
BloorwestSiR
I'll measure them when I get home tonight for you Steve. One other issue with using Spitfire cannons is that you'll need two sets of them as they only have one pair in each set that would be suitable in length, shape notwithstanding.
