Vandy 1 VX 4
Hello Folks With so much talk about buildin Dioramas for our B-25s and furture Black Widows. I thought a thread for products for our Allied WWII dioramas would help out a lot. I also will like to do a WWII Luftwaffa one to for the He-219, Ta-152 and He-111 but at a later time. Some of us here just build LS Planes and do not venture off of that, But some do. So I like to see someone build a Jeep with a maintance figure standing on the hood (bonnet) working on that nice R2600 or wiping the nose glass down. Like Shep Paine, and Monogram did. I know this is Large Scale Planes and I do not want to change that. It's an idea to help each other to make that dream 1/32nd Air Plane (1/35 Helo) look complet all opened up and sourcing items out. Not sure where to post this so if it needs to be moved or deleted? I understand. Cheers Vandy
Rowen
Vandy, I am in the process of building a large diorama with my B-25 glass nose. I am making the "Ink Squirts" version and placing it on an anonymous airstrip on Okinawa. Or. So I tell myself! LOL! I am going to have a maintenance build (a Miniart workshop building). I've gathered some 1/32 cans, a couple ZM aircraft workmen (from their P-51 sets), a couple oxygen/nitrogen cylinders, several 55gal drums (the 1/32 scale were really hard to find! Had to get them in England). I picked up the airbase oil cart from Verlinden and sandbags from Tamiya. There's also Tamiya's 1/35 jeep. I'd really like to have 1/32 jeeps and such but the scale is not *that* much different that it can't be effective visually. Most of these were purchased at Sprue Bros. The 1/32 55gal barrels were from a model ship building place online in England. The difference between a 1/32 and 1/35 55gal drum is just enough to bother me. I am currently working on the last stages of building the B-25. Just about ready to paint, decal and weather it. It's going to be NMF so it'll be fun. Not sure if this is what you were going for here but I can post some pics if you're interested? -Ro

Guest Peterpools
Vandy A great idea. Most of the dio/vignette accessories would be for the normal between flight maintenance, refueling and re-arming equipment. Finding everything is a chore and sometimes hit or miss. Figures, small trucks and jeeps would be the topper.
phantom
I have some palm trees and a tent for a start. I am going to buy a quansit hut and some figures for mine. It will be a multi purpose diorama were as I will be able to put down (the aircraft will not be attached) anyone of two or three different aircraft like either a B-25, P-61 or a Mustang. Verlinden has some accessories that I will also be buying. Mike Saber

Vandy 1 VX 4
From Peter Posted 02 March 2013 - 03:46 AM I'm planning on a nicely detailed vignette for my Widow. A few figures and accessories to add scale and life and then let the Widow take over.
JRutman
There is a nice forum already on this website for anything not pertaining to large scale aircraft and if you have any questions there is all kind of expertise available over there! J
phantom
What is there about this thread that doesn't pertain to large scale aircraft? Mike
Vandy 1 VX 4
Hello Jerry All thou this thread is for LARGE SCALE PLANES / HELOS only. I posted this at the start of the thread ( Not sure where to post this so if it needs to be moved or deleted? I understand.Cheers Vandy) The Items that I have listed are all 1/32 or 1/35 for LSP dioramas. Also there is no forum for Dioramas or do I believe that I am special. To need to have one stared for the few of us on LSP that may want to try out a Diorama. The other Forum ( Non-LSP Works ) for all scales and items. (There will be no sub-forums or genre-based sub-divisions; just one container for everything non-LSP, with the strict focus being on the models) I see this as a fine line. Thank you. JRutman
What is there about this thread that doesn't pertain to large scale aircraft? Mike My post was in reply to his query on tips about building dios, etc. I meant in no way to imply that his post was not LSP related. I was just saying there is a lot of expertise on the non LSP forum that would cover building dios, scratchbuilding, groundwork, foliage, etc, etc. J
