Bill Cross
OK, I realize the Admins might think this is a verboten topic since not, strictly-speaking, directly about aircraft, but I found out that the Soviet Union gave North Vietnam at least 70 captured German 88mm AA guns. Does anyone have photos and camo schemes? Did the North Vietnamese repaint them? The guns were withdrawn from service in the late 60s as ammo for them became scarce (the Soviets did not attempt to continue the production that ended when Nazi Germany lost the war). dutik
If it was used by the Russians, or at least stored to be used if needed, they would have been painted in the common russian colours of these days. Green. 4BO mostly or the successing colour, if repainted over the years. BTW, interesting finding. A very different setting for a 8,8 gun. Alain Gadbois
I didn’t know that, but it is not surprising when you think about it. Panzer IVs were still in use by Syria in the seventies. Bill Cross
