bobster
Just received e-mail from Richard informing me he is shipping 2 preordred kits to me here in the colonies. The reports I am hearing are all good. Aviattics has a membership program of different levels, which would provide discounts on future orders. I am considering a membership to support continued success of Aviattics. Is there anyone here who could speak to the benefits of membership?
LSP_Ray
Well, the main benefit of support is allowing them to create more stuff! I assume you are referring to the Patreon levels? The only benefit I recall other than the discounts is you also get first notice of updates on what they are working on and early shot on pre-ordering. Been a supporter since they started it up. bobster
Thanks, Ray. I think I'll join. Cannot imagine WW1 modeling without Aviattic support...Bob.
atelier.brunt
My Pfalz DVIII 'Pour le Mérite' kit came! first impression: MIND BLOWN !!!! What an amazing multimedia kit, never seen anything like it. - Cast pieces look fantastic, hardly ANY cleanup needed, fantastic details. - 3D printed parts like the engine and smaller complex details for the cockpit and others are next level 3D printed. I have a hard time with 3D printed parts when they are not perfect and you can see stark layer lines or have too brittle resin or get used for the wrong reasons etc. then I think 3D printing is a waste of time and far inferior to traditional casting. On the other hand in this kit the components chose to print are ideal and the printing quality is honestly the best I have ever seen, a far as I am aware done by Gaspatch, well done! - Decals look great too, screen printed markings and details and also two sets of lozenge decals for the fabric covered areas in the known Aviattic style, superb. - The manual is a very thick, lovely printed, colour booklet with many great reference fotos (some not know to me yet) and really well done 3D assembly views. Fantastic marking schemes to choose from, this manual is a real joy! - lots of great extras like a lovely resin figure, Pfalz sticker and decals, Poster etc. I am so excited to start this build but have to wait until I finish my current project. Also I will have to order another kit for the stash, its just too good not to have another. Sooooo as you can see I am super excited about this kit! I am in no way affiliated with Aviattic incase you were wondering haha.. I will try and send some fotos of the parts when I get round to it. As a final word, If you are in to the WW1 subject or are in to exclusive multimedia kits or just want to know how good 3D printing can be, I highly recommend you to get one as long es there still are some left. The price might seem steep at first but in my eyes more than worth it for how nice it is, whats included in the kit and how much work must have gone in to it!
