Monty Python
Anybody used mig ammo acrylics. If so, are they any good? mpk
Dave Williams
The are fine as paint. You just need to make sure there is a good primer underneath because their adherence to bare plastic can sometimes be challenged in my experience. mpk
Mark M
ditto, ive got a few and they are really easy to spray but most need a priimer mpk
Zero77
I had several attemps to water based acrylics like MiG or AK paints (i even bought a lot of sets), but i'm not a fan. I definitely prefer the alcool based acrylics. WIth water based, i always have clogging issues, and i really struggle to find the correct dilution (always too thick or too thin), whereas it's never been an issue with Gunze or Tamiya. However, the colors usually looks great, though some may be a bit surprising, especially for AFV's. But i guess they are base colors, designed to be weathered, so it may not be anormal that they look weird straight out of the bottle. Â But it must only be me, as many of us use them without any issue and like them. Edited July 13, 2017 by Zero77 mpk
Guest Peterpools
I used the Mig paints to paint my Kfir and they went down smooth as silk. I also use mostly MIG Gray and Black primer and just love the stuff    MIG Paints used
Monty Python
Thanks for the replies. Have just bought the Takom King Tiger with full interior and the colour call outs are all mig ammo.
Dave Williams
You don't have to use the Ammo Mig paints. There are a number of companies that make WW2 German armor colors. Monty Python
Monty Python
My local hobby shops only stock humbrol or tamiya so any other brands have to bought online so I thought I may give mig a go
