Guest Peterpools
Today's Modelling News has some terrific photos of the P-39 as well as some super crisp reference photos. One gorgeous aircraft model http://www.themodellingnews.com/2015/05/kittyhawks-new-cobra-is-built-and-ready.html#more Peter
DeanKB
Oh bugger. I was hoping this was not going to be very good, as I've 2 Special Hobby 1/32 P-39's in the stash. It's even better than I anticipated & I'll just have to get one now. In fact, it looks a bit Tamiya-ish.
Guest Peterpools
Sure looks like a winner and an absolute must buy. Peter

Guest Clunkmeister
Oh buy. I'm gonna be all over this one. A sadly underrepresented fighter of WW2, and one gat turned out to be one of the best Allied ground attack fighters of the war. WW2 isn't my favorite era, but I'm gonna build several of these. My SH kit just might end up as a Christmas raffle prize...
Rowen
Aside from the Martin B-26 Marauder (someone - PLEASE give us a decent 1/32 Marauder!!!), the P-39 was one of my favorites. My dad was in the USAAF and was stationed with them (and was a friend of Doc McGhee - "Nips Nemesis II"). I am curious, though, that the linked page talks about the P-39Q with the single 0.50 cal machine guns in wing pods yet the model in the pics shows what appears to be the 4 0.30 cal guns. Or is this a kit you can change armaments? -Ro Artful69
Guest Clunkmeister
I thought the same thing...

Aside from the Martin B-26 Marauder (someone - PLEASE give us a decent 1/32 Marauder!!!) ... ... Castlegaiden is working on this - although I know it's only in design stage ... I doubt he'll have trouble with market demand if the kit is around HK B-25 prices. Rog

98Wrangler
I would hope that there is an armament choice and I would have liked to view the decal sheet. In any case, I'll take two, maybe three just on the quality evident in the photos.

Artful69
Glen has just sent me a small selection of sprue shots: Ammunition panels are open in the wings ... so you would definitely think there are armament options. Rog
LSP_Kevin
I kind of like the idea of building my Special Hobby kit all closed up (just like it is in the box), and posing it next to one of these with everything flung open. Kev Zero77
Guest Clunkmeister
Except the SH version will be the shorty version...
